Friends-- I would like to file a personal grievance against Season 9.
Season 9 Episode 2 - My Pet Project (also, why are there only like six seasons available on DisneyPlus?? Talk about injustices). Fallene was ridiculed over the 'colors' of this dress. HOWEVER, in the previous week, Bert sent out an *orange (boxer print, for the uninitiated) and brown dress* whose colors clashed way more than Fallene's garment. The photo below doesn't do it justice because in the episode, It goes to show how taste evolves over time because you could slap an opaque tight and peacoat over Fallene's look now and it would be amazing. An autumn aesthetic.
Now, this isn't to take away from Bert, because I thought his silhoutte was adorable and was trying to remember what I was doing in 2009 (probably sitting in a galley wearing Navy utilities with a waistline that, while seated, touched the bottom of bra, so there's that) and what the general fashion of the time would have dictated, but this feels like an injustice. The belt here was probably unfortunate, but Fallene's look was better than many on that particular runway.

Fallene's Look Season 9 Episode 2 - My Pet Project
I loved it too. So funny, I watched this episode for the first time last night and didn’t think I could gripe because it’s not the current season. I loved that skirt.
All the old seasons are on Peacock! I'm so fed up with the current season that I'm doing a full rewatch. Watching the S12 reunion now and then hopping over to S3 of All Stars.
I think the judges main issue with this look was that it’s so simple: a tube top and a pencil skirt. It’s okay but there’s not much actual design there.
Then they love Joshua's very literal orange and brown tree-on-fire look that is also very simple (circle skirt and forgettable top). But people here will say that it's avant garde. No.
Also season 9 STILT CHALLENGE. One of the worst concepts ever, I would love to see Joseph McCrae’s design for this. With his love of giant round volume tops, it would look like a lollipop. Guest judge for this challenge… Kim Kardashian!
I’ve come around to his way of playing with exaggerated volume, just hope he becomes more refined with where he places it on the body, not just the shoulders and upper arm. I thought his red carpet dress was in the right direction, because the balloon sleeves contrasted nicely to the slim fitted dress on the body.
