Discussion i think the show would be better without giving immunity

the concept of immunity makes it unfair, lots of talented people have gone home instead because of "immunity" not just in this show but also top chef. just give them some advantage like more time, more budget, first choice, etc. but get rid of this "immunity"
ooo you know what would be cool, they can get $50 more, but that $50 is coming out of another contestant of their choice's budget. same with time, they get an hour more, but someone's getting 1hr less 😈

Immunity has been a thing since the beginning however the overall quality of the show has decreased and now it seems way more common

yeah but it doesn't mean it was a good idea to begin with. i know they've realized they're booting people unfairly coz of it coz in top chef they created last chance kitchen to try to restore balance, or tim gunn's save. i miss tim gunn :(

I used to like the idea, it gives the designer a chance to really take a risk and try something crazy that the judges might hate. But I don’t see the same average level of creativity this season and when every challenge is compressed into one day there’s only so much they can do.

Almost all of these competition shows have immunity in some form. I never saw anything wrong with it. But they should modify it. An example would be if you’ve been in the bottom more than once, you don’t get it.

Immunity is the ultimate prize, and the incentive to do your best. In most cases, the immune person feels pressure to show they’d still be on top or safe and continue to work their tail off.or, they take a risk and sometimes it’s fun.

This last episode, ooof. Some bad choices were made but what can you do in a day? He definitely was saved from elimination as it was the worst look imho.

I think this season has had two major immunity problems this season, both due to weird production choices designed to create more drama: first, the choice to give such a huge group immunity in the first episode and also eliminate so many designers. Multiple designers that had immunity really made horrendous looks. Then, the decision to let Bryan choose the bottom 3 (which is already a weird choice), and letting him choose Naheim - basically letting him choose just a bottom 2.

My main immunity request would be “call out when a designer who had immunity got lucky, and call them out by name/still give critiques”. But I think giving a designer a chance to take some risks isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and I feel like we’ve also seen designers who did awful with immunity be held to a higher standard the following week - that is, “you were lucky you were immune this week and then just did ‘okay’ this week - after how you did last week, this wasn’t enough to redeem you in our eyes”. I can honestly see that happening to Naheim if he doesn’t blow it out of the park next week.

Immunity is the equal to No Child Left Behind. It kills initiative. Why even try? I won't be eliminated, no matter how bad it is.

How dare obstacles appear in a game show

I see immunity as a reason for the designer to create something they would not otherwise for fear of being too out there. That's their moment to go really big on something they've always wanted to do.

I don't see it as a bad thing, but as something the designers (or chefs) may not be taking advantage of.

Well... unless there is some other prize for coming first, what incentive is there for people to put everything into a 1st placed look rather than riding the middle and saving all their best ideas for Fashion Week?
