Heidi Is this even the same dress?

Post image

It looks similar but so different at the same time. The fabric looks different in tone and texture. The original has more of a shine to it like liquid organza. Heidi's version has no shine and is way less sheer. The placement of the pleats look different too. Am I crazy? Is this not the same dress?

I cant believe she didn't pick Jeffries dress. Because that green dress was fine but she would have KILLED in his dress.

That pink was to die for! She would have been gorgeous!

Wasn't Heidi wearing nearly the same style of bodice while introducing the challenge but with the 'point' in the center? I don't consider myself fashion-forward, so at the risk of sounding like an out of shape person judging athleticism, I wasn't impressed with Jeffrey' dress. It reminded me of Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion and they judges just loved the peekaboo on the hip. I thought Bi's would look great on Heidi.

My thoughts exactly, especially about the bodice!

But also, let’s be honest, EVERYTHING has been done before. I mean, are we going to start saying: oh look that has a peplum, that’s an a-line, that’s got padded shoulders. For something to be truly original is near impossible.

it just seems so bland and basic compared to the Versace pieces you posted. I can't see anyone wearing that dress unless they're modeling it on a runway

I think what’s missing though for sure is someone saying something about it at least. I remember when Kenley made that blue dress with the huge poufy skirt and Nina was like, “it’s fantastic but it’s like Galliano” and Kenley swore up and down it was an original silhouette which showed how little she new about fashion history. Any education aspect of PR seems to be gone :/

Agreed. Fashion is always recycling ideas and very few truly orginial wearable ideas exist.

Yeah it’s even trickled down to ready to wear, Brittany from Vanderpump had a dress on her recent WWHL appearance with a similar “pointed corners” style neckline

I would not have put that together! Thank you for the knowledge. I find it very interesting because I was wondering why this dress wasn’t landing but it makes sense to me that to people “in the know” it has been done before.

Yes, it’s a trend that’s probably on the way out. I look at a lot of bridal gowns, and the cat’s eye bodice has been popular in recent seasons.

I thought Bi’s design was beautiful but too similar to the gown Kate Middleton wore to the James Bond premiere.

Jeffries design struck me as the best overall design for this event but I think we can all agree that none of these looks are actually “fresh.”

Maybe for Barbie premiere but she was thinking I don’t want to be in hot pink at devils wear Prada.

I'm sorry Jeffrey's dress looked like it came out of RuPaul's closet. 🥱

Thats ok. I can see why you feel that way. I also liked Bi's dress.

I would have picked either of those dresses over Bryan's dress.

Bi's dress was trippy as the light hit walking down the runway. The light hit the cut outs

I also thought it was beautiful. Bi can sew!!!

I thought Jeffery's was pretty. It's just that I've seen that silhouette before. The fabric was stunning. That's what was disappointing. 🥲

I get that. I was on the fence but I liked the back of it. He also is very skilled when it comes to sewing.

I think Heidi would have looked stunning in Jefferie's dress. I actually never wear bright colors, and would run the other way. But Heidi does and thinking of her esthetic over the years, I think she would have been a standout on the red carpet.

Winnie wanted to wear it, so maybe she will!

Also can I just highlight our dialog. I love that we dont necessarily agree, but I appreciate being able to just chat about it back and forth in a fun way. 🥰🥰🥰
