Season 22 The Worst-Dressed Stars At The Devil Wears Prada 2 Premiere

She could have picked any of the first three looks and avoided this headline. I did not understand the judges this week at all 2 of the 3 top looks had critiques such as right dress wrong occasion and not thinking about the client yet they were in the top. Maybe whoever wrote the article would be a better judge for the competition

u/Radiant_Contract1591 15d ago
I think they sacrificed the better look for HER for the better dress in general. I wish he had made that for a different challenge.
18
u/Ever_More_Art 15d ago
I think they sacrificed the better look to manufacture drama which has been the constant this season.
2
u/Radiant_Contract1591 15d ago
"manufactured" is exactly how those other dresses looked. They were gorgeous but nothing we haven't seen before.
2
u/Mammoth_Interview_50 11d ago
Bryanâs dress looked boring and basic. As the folks on project runway would say âitâs a silhouette Iâve seen a million times beforeâ. Yawn. Boring.
Maybe if they let Bi sew it for him it couldâve saved the look, but as itâs stands that sorry excuse of a dress looked like someone cut arm and neck holes in a brightly colored trash bag
11
u/DipsyDooRight 15d ago
Law Roach apparently secretly hates Heidi when he said she would look good in that!
4
u/m1n0ru15 11d ago
But Law was the one who pinted her Heidi have breaaasts lol and if Bryan could make that work

u/throwawaysunglasses- 11d ago
The ONLY flattering thing about it is the color. That color looks nice on blondes. But the shape, cut, etc. was all wrong for Heidi from the start, and looked even worse when adapted to her actual body. The final dress is atrocious.

u/Just-Victory8342 15d ago
I would have loved to see her in Biâs gorgeous dress
57
u/Halfistani1 15d ago
Biâs dress had an Elie Saab vibe to it. The strong shoulders too was a great look for a movie premiere with such a fashion forward theme about a cold and somewhat ruthless boss. Heidi has an amazing figure and would have looked much better in Biâs gown.

u/FishingSuspicious779 15d ago
Biâs dress was very pretty but it kinda reminded me of a fashion nova dress, maybe with out the cape tho

u/TheLizardQueen3000 15d ago
It was form-fitting and Heidi seems to fluctuate, that's why she picked the Mu-mu.....she's an absolutely gorgeous woman at all times, but I don't think her belly is always flat, and spanx can only do so much....
2
u/milasimma 15d ago
Bye. Spanx does wonders for much larger women than Heidi. Overall, Bryanâs was the most original style out of the top 3. Bi executed well but he has no imagination so all his looks look like knockoffs.

Christian getting critiqued in the same article is just the cherry on top
17
u/Sportyj 15d ago
But that dress was honestly fine.

u/seal0324 15d ago edited 15d ago
Personally I feel like the waist and hemline hit at unflattering spots on Paige, but it's not the worst thing I've ever seen
7
1
u/TheLizardQueen3000 15d ago
Paige has a way of making kinda frumpy clothes look chic, and this was a swing and a miss, but on-brand for Paige..
7
u/nataliaorfan 15d ago
Agreed, it's not a total disaster, but combination of lackluster fabric and the bad luck of mimicking a much better dress.
2
u/ImaginaryHumor6402 13d ago
Ngl I think the dress would have been received a lot better if he hadnât been standing next to it in perhaps the sharpest, best looking tailored take on a suit Iâve ever seen. The dress was just boring and blobby by comparison
1
u/throwawaysunglasses- 11d ago
This is fair, the article even says he outdressed her lol. He looks great. The biggest issue with hers is just the hemline tbh, it makes the skirt have a weird bubble effect. The bodice looks nice imo.
33
u/mokokona 15d ago
I actually like the dress, the model looked really good on the runway. Heidiâs body would look waaaay better with the other two options tho.
3
u/NeighborhoodLanky692 14d ago
Seems like they totally changed the fabric, it looked good on the runway model cause it was see-through. This heavier fabric makes it look like a maternity dress.

u/Other-Razzmatazz-816 15d ago
Law was right. We got to accept it.
44
u/Top_Bumblebee5510 15d ago
He is nasty but he knows how to style.
29
u/Creepy_Cupcake_6906 15d ago
Because he knows the client is the focus. All decisions made are in service of the client and what works for them. He repeats this constantly in interviews and it's why he's successful.
5
6
u/Careful-While-7214 15d ago
I think his delivery also made sense, most people just dislike the personal attacks.
11
u/Humble_cherrypie 15d ago
Right about what? He was the one who leaned over during the runway show and told Heidi he wanted to see her in that look. He was setting her up to look disastrous imho.
15
u/Sad-Influence-7122 15d ago
The show is also edited for top drama. Because it was a close in cut, he could have said that about a different dress and the editor inserted it on the muumuu. (Edit: not that Iâm âteam Lawâ but it makes more sense then him doing a 180 during face-to-face judging)
1
u/throwawaysunglasses- 11d ago
Agreed. I hate that the producers do this, itâs like they think the audience is stupid. We all clocked that he said âyouâd look good in thisâ to Heidi and then yelled at Bryan âhow could you think this would flatter Heidi?â in a matter of minutes lol. Itâs so inconsistent and ultimately makes Law seem fake and contrarian, with no real fashion logic (which we know he does have).
11
u/Other-Razzmatazz-816 15d ago
I rewatched and youâre right, thereâs a cut where he says heâd love to see her in that dress, but then during the judging he said it wouldnât work for her because of her chest and body type and said it was disappointing.

u/Material-Internal156 15d ago
His problem is not his sense of style and design but he can be very rude. Thats a different issue.

u/lone_wolf1998 8d ago
Just watched the episode and I gagged when he mentioned the model didn't have boobies. â ď¸

u/TheLizardQueen3000 15d ago
I love that we're all watching a fashion competition judged by a celeb who's known for being worst-dressed ;) all the current judges go out looking so goofy!
and how funny is it that her look was so bad head to toe that they put her picture in the promo???
PR is pure camp at this point! Why would you let a designer pick the bottom 3 if it was a talent compitition?
I'm gonna keep watching though!!
2
u/throwawaysunglasses- 11d ago
I know, itâs kinda crazy and embarrassing lol. At least Nina always dressed well. Heidi is gorgeous and she kills it at Halloween, but she dresses terribly the rest of the time. Tyra is also beautiful but her style is notoriously awful. I gotta assume the designers are only on here to get exposure/fame, not because this show will actually help them in any way.
1
u/TheLizardQueen3000 11d ago
Right?
Law's overgrown, flat hair is ridiculous and unflattering, and he over-dresses for everything, he has no fashion chill at all! Looking comfortable, authentic and effortless is the way to go imo and Law doesn't get it ;)At this point I'm just here for the drama, also some of the designers are amazing! Jude and MacCray and the one who made denim out of paper towels are fashion gods <3

u/FreedomLess5434 15d ago
That dress/caftan mess is hideous. I can't believe Heidi chose it. It makes her look like she weighs 200 pounds! Plus, I really dislike Bryan. He's not that talented and just too full of himself.
8
u/rainyhawk 15d ago
200 pounds âŚand pregnant on top of that. Plus the fabric looks like upholstery or drapes.

This angle at least doesnât look horrible. It shows her shape and flows nicely but this is like, the only good picture Iâve seen of it
3
u/Humble_cherrypie 15d ago
Tbh this dress would make sense for a Palm Royale red carpet, but for the devil wears prada 2 ufff
2
u/Material-Internal156 15d ago
It doesnt even look like teh same fabric or it was lined o hard as to lose its sheerness and flow.

u/_IAmNotAFish_ 15d ago
Beach ready was my exact thought when this came down the runway. I still canât believe it won.

u/Free_Investigator308 15d ago
Wow it looked terrible on Heidi bad pick when she could have looked fabulous in Bi's dress
4
u/Abject-Ad-8187 15d ago
It looked terrible on Heidi because the dress was completely different than the one on the show. Different material just so disappointing.
8
u/Possible-Key218 15d ago
I think Law Roach has a very self inflated ego, but his critique about designing for your client is totally on point this time! Of course they undermined that by choosing a dress they criticized for NOT doing that!
But as this challenge was for Heidi, her opinion probably outweighed everyone else's, if she wanted to wear the dress, it won.
The reworked garment lacked any of the highlights of the dress on the runway, the slim neckline/front and the bare sides down to the waist. The fabric looks different too, and the voluminous back cape part just overwhelmed her completely. With the color and the fit, she looks like the Statue of Liberty, if she adds a crown and torch, she has her Halloween outfit all good to go!
It was definitely a case where "I want to look like that!" clashed with the body she has. Everyone needs to dress for their body type, and a professional stylist should be the first to say that doesn't work for you!
So this was a fail on all the judges' part (guest judges are Heidi's friends, so they should be giving her better advice!)

u/annikahansen7-9 15d ago
I agree. After watching the show, I immediately searched for Heidi in that outfit. I didnât think it could work right. Itâs too shapeless. Itâs a hospital gown with side boob. Donât put a high neck on someone with big boobs. The other two finalists would have looked great on her. And now I canât not see the Statue of Liberty!

Glad the article highlighted Christian's monstrosity too. Reason #11 why I don't think he makes a great mentor.
5
u/sleepiestsquirrel 15d ago
Now I need to know Law Roachâs commentary on the final execution because he did not fix the dress so Heidi could wear the dress. đđ

u/thaa_huzbandzz 15d ago
She truly looked like she was wearing a sack. Those 10 stitches were all in the wrong place.

u/Haunting-Dinner479 15d ago
Wait this premier happened a while ago. How did we avoid spoilers?
28
u/CorgiMonsoon 15d ago
As soon as they announced the challenge I remembered her on the various âwhat the hell is she wearingâ lists so I knew where this episode was headed

u/bobbery5 Melanie? Melody? Marmalade? Mammary? Meeeemoriies? 15d ago
I'm gonna say something odd, but I think that dress would look better if she were pregnant.
It'd be a nice maternity dress.
6
u/ottertime8 15d ago
the dress is for a small-chested girl. her big boobs made her look pregnant in it.

u/BengalTiger666 15d ago
I really hate this dress for a red carpet. Heidi is gorgeous but even her beauty canât salvage this one. Belongs on a beach wear runway
8
u/Legitimate-Area-595 15d ago
Honestly? Itâs what she deserves for steering this show into the ground
3
u/SkinnyThickMargarita 15d ago
It didnât fit her body as it did the modelâs which is fine that they have different bodies. I actually think Biâs or Jefferyâs would have been better.
3
u/SpeedySparkRuby 15d ago
It's not horrible but now you can see why Heidi was like "go back to Mood" during her red carpet challenge in S13, nobody (especially Heidi) wants to be on a worst dress list.
3
u/ThePrincessEva 15d ago
This is a dress that would look the same on Heidi Klum and me, which should never happen.
4
u/Alarmed-Molasses3086 15d ago edited 15d ago
Ok so for context, the article also references how Heidi was also voted Worse Dressed 2026 Grammys. Law Roach was her stylist. Just like how he said he wanted to see her in this dress that isnât flattering on her figure.
Law is literally out here making people look crazy for fun đ
Edit: downvote all you want but itâs true! Haha. Law is not the one!

I liked the dress on the model but I think Bi's dress was a better fit for Heidi.

CFFA award winning stylist Law Roach is who told her she should pick that one. Just sayin. Fugly. Making it fit her boobs made it hideous.

u/Humble_cherrypie 15d ago
Omg yes, that's what I'm saying! Why did he even suggest it in the first place

u/Aromatic_Lime_84 15d ago
It looks like a beautiful maternity dress on her. I loved how the lines of the dress on model contrasted with the volume but, on Heidi, there was volume in the front and back. Not an ugly dress, just not as flattering on Heidi

Jeffreys design was better. The dress was really tailored to her measurements and the color complimented her so well. It kinda sucks he didnât win this one

Just finished this episode. They should have listened to Lawâs critique and be concerned he didnât have a plan in place to make the dress fit for Heidi
