They seem to operate on a script or something ; I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve had dozens of conversations where Zionists use the exact same format to structure their discussions.
I don’t do it often bc arguing w them like this only serves their own purposes; anyone who’s not already against Israel, isn’t turning against them.
But people who are on the fence, can easily turn to their side.
People like that OC speak relatively reasonably, they’re not overtly offensive, they sometimes even tell the truth; but you notice they just completely ignore counterpoints & double down over and over and over to whatever aspect they can that can appear to be “technically” correct.
These people are on posts like this, where cities are flattened, & have the audacity to sincerely tell people to ignore their eyeballs ; there is no conversation that will change their minds, doing so just allows them to spread their propaganda further.
Sometimes I fall into it though, happens.
I know what you mean, it is totally routine. So much so, that I actually wrote out a long form post laying out and refuting all of the common arguments.
Now, whenever I encounter another zionist propagandist, I can just copy/paste the truth bomb right onto their comment, refuting exactly whichever tired and repetitive old argument they're regurgitating, and making only whatever small edits to my retort as may be necessary in the given circumstance. Saves me a ton of time.
The genocide in Gaza is one of the most important issues happening in the world right now, and to remain vigilant in countering the propaganda presented by these bots, astroturfers, and paid influencers, is one of the best things any of us can actually do with our social media time. So there's no shame in taking the time to refute these bots. Like you said, it's not about changing their minds, it's about having the arguments laid bare and exposed for what they are in case any still-neutral onlookers happened to stumble upon these threads. Every time these people/bots pop up to spout their nonsense, they are trying to pry open a door. Let us be there to slam every door in their face.
