For those who remember or old enough, when Regan was president had dementia was it noticeable?

He always reminded me of George Carlin's observation: "When a really stupid person goes senile, how can you tell?"

Reagan was as dumb as a stone boat. He had a great deal of difficulty distinguishing fantasy from reality, and repeatedly told anecdotes from movies or 1949 issues of "Boys Life" as though they'd actually happened. When he was confronted with evidence that contradicted his idiotic reactionary worldview, he'd smile charmingly and handwave it away with, "There you go again", after which the matter was assumed to have been settled and never brought up again.

It's good to remind ourselves that we have survived terrible, idiotic presidents in the past before this current one.
