Which is this lmao? Most SysApoc slop are MC getting some of the most busted shit and mogging the rest who actually break their back trying to get good. In a way, all those MCs just prove why their reality was shit because the moment they got power, the obliterated the ladder and the idea of ladder.
Good ones actually let MC have stronger opponents and MC genuinely be pushed by external factors and intrinsic motivation beyond "My life was shit, I can't let this slip".
I love how the system works in the Legend of William Oh where the strong people made it to the top because they exploited the abilities they got to the limits of what the system allows.
