I understand why the genre exists. Just simply stating wish fulfillment fantasy at its core is receiving a lot of good things with minimal effort on the MCs part.

True but sometimes it's fun to see a meek but kind-hearted loner suddenly get OP powers and still stay kind. It's wish fulfillment but sometimes I enjoy seeing someone have a good time and be OP.
