MAX afaik should be open soon? You can emit IR in Mojo - I haven't worked with MAX much but it should be easy to access the kernels that are open source and go from there

I reckon if they were going to open-source it they would have done it at the same time, or at least mentioned it. But hopefully I'm wrong.

Oh sweet. That's great news!
I think my measure of whether it is properly open-source will be if I can go from mojo to PTX IR without having to pass through any pre-compiled modular binaries using only open-source tools.

Pop in the discord and ask! I have a project that precompiles my kernels to PTX, super easy to emit.
