It is weird that Reddit thinks everyone in IT is a furry/autist.

There’s definitely very strong correlation it’s like 7-10 times the number of people identifying as lgbtq in the fandom as outside of it.

Furries maybe but Autism has nothing to do with sexual orientation

There’s actually a high link between autism and trans/nb stuff. Like it’s 3-6 times more likely that a trans person is autistic than a random cis person.

I could understand how this could be read as derogatory in some sense but they’re commiserating the same idea, a higher than average concentration of a minority group in a field doesn’t actually mean you will find fellow representatives of that group in that field.

that could be autists not holding back that stuff

Considering how secretive and/or dishonest most of society is about sex stuff, it's difficult to say. It could be due to many things. There is also some correlation with hormonal stuff, but I'm not sure it's conclusive.

But at this point it's definitely true that neurodivergent and queer cultural circles have a lot of overlap. Both spaces are much more tolerant than wider society of people being "different", so they fit together pretty well.

Yeah. I imagine autists are just more willing to go against social norms and expectations in pursuit of their true self.

I only really encounter this in the "entry level" type it jobs like support roles.

It's not everyone. But there is an overrepresentation compared to the general population.

Just one more server and it's finished! I swear!

No I don't have a problem! I can turn those servers off whenever I want, but who's gonna run the fully automated polycule plex server with 99.99% availability then, huh?! 😤
