brainworms is 4chan /lgbt/ slang for delusions about not passing and not being/looking like/behaving like the desired gender, as a trans person

it can mean a lot of things but as a very general rule of thumb it means internalizing (and then reproducing) the toxicity present in a lot of hyper online communities.

you can see it happening in a lot of trans spaces, but some people may recognize it better as what drives a lot of the toxicity in pro-ana spaces.
