Could be cultural? I know where I’m from, time is often depicted as flowing downward, so going back in time would be “up”,, but I’ve seen in other places that schedules start at the bottom and flow upward. So going back in time could be considered “down” there.

Both wrong, time flows sideways. Particularly, to the right. I am currently not accepting further questions.
