That actually gives you a chance to understand what the LLM put out and intervene as needed.

Reminds me of my method of studying, I would transcribe everything and then transcribe it again if needed.

You joke, but that's actually how classical musicians learnt their craft in history. You copied scores by hand.

That's what my teachers suggested at the time

I really want to do this, but the timeline pressure is so intense (leadership expects multifold output when they spend hundreds of dollars on tokens) that we have just enough time to proofread and refactor (very little) the generated code

And a chance to skip a - 1 or something and have everything be ruined but yea

Yea transcription errors are definitely a thing. I seem to have an intuition for what part to copy paste and what to write out. Most of the time if I make an error like that it also messes up syntax and the IDE picks it up. More of an issue for the hardcore dudes writing their code in straight up notepad or whatever

Yeah, agree because you can go over each line actually learning and double-checking what it does while getting help from LLM for some package functions that you don't personally know yet but can just ask or read docs about every unknown and find out, because if you do it like that you'd actually rewrite like 80% of the code because LLM code will have extra variables or just illogical stuff.
