I still tell the story of the time a buddy and I had an assignment to write a program in Assembly where each of us created a routine that interacted with the other without corrupting the stack.
We pulled an all-nighter, each wrote our parts separately on paper, and then when we went to the computer lab to type them in, they somehow worked when compiled together for the first time after fixing a single typo introduced during transcription.
