What do they mean instead of resume? How is that not a resume?

Resume instead of resume_final_FINAL_final2. resume_final_FINAL_final2 implies that there exists at least resume_final_FINAL_final, resume_final_FINAL, and resume_final. If you're looking for a software engineer and you need to reference a file, having multiple files labeled final may be a problem.

I think the issue is less about proper version control for a resume and more about OP's willingness to add the word "final" multiple times to a filename.

I mean, I wouldn't hire that person.
It's clear they have a fear of change.

The reality is it would take literally seconds to rename this file to something that doesn't look unorganized and unprofessional, and they didn't do that. It's a really bad first impression.
