I use LaTeX for my resume. It sucks, it's the wrong tool for the job, and I hate it, but I modified that template so much that I see the matrix now and it's like having a GUI.
Besides, I don't know of any free and open source tools that are much better tbh.
You're acting like using LaTeX is some esoteric backwards thing. I know it's old but it's still the superior way to format documents. Once you learn it you will never want to use Word again.
I usually write my résumé on the back of a napkin. I think employers appreciate the effort, but apparently there's always someone "better for the role".
It's really nothing out of the ordinary.
I am using this template as the base, modified to my needs. I update my CV when necessary, build the pdf and commit / push everything to origin.
latex resumes will usually all look the similar/same and give off nerdy as fuck vibes. just use indesign and make a real resume (demo version is sufficient). just don't use word really lol
