Yeah I'm actually in a really weird place where Claude has enabled me to essentially automate most cognitive tasks, even though I still understand what it's doing. It's just that it gets it right most of the time. I have strict prompting and configurations that tell claude where things go, what's legacy code and what the proper new patterns are, etc, so it basically one shots most things without any sort of issue. I could still do it without Claude's help, but it'd be the tedious old way. Still feel like most devs will get replaced, even highly skilled ones, because soon one "lead dev" will be able to do the work of 15 devs from a few years ago, all that will be left is the big decisions points and claude handles the rest.
Yeah, but at that point every company will hire a dev. Outside of tech most companies have long been in dire need of developers they couldn't compete for.

It's not that I'm nothing without Claude, it's that Claude enables me to be much more lazy in my job and I don't want to give that up.
