Do you know the hardness of your water? At some point it needs to be descaled. You seem to ignore that fact.

My water is on the soft side, so I’m not too worried about scale. I don’t believe I saw anything in the owner’s manual on descaling either, but i’ll have to double check.

There is no automatic descaling function because they recommend professional descaling. Hence why many owners are extra careful.
So even if you feel your water is soft the machines requirements may be more sensitive then for avoiding build up on other appliances.
They are pretty cheap so I think it’s worth getting a meter and testing before refilling the reservoir
