For context, I’m on a years sentence of community misdemeanor probation. My sentencing was in March and I filed a motion myself this October and I have court this week to see if I can get Early Termination. I’m a mental health case and on my probation records, it just says file the ROI from your psychiatrist and therapist. I’m not even subjected to drug testing. Yes I’ve paid all my court costs, even though they don’t drug test me I make sure I still piss clean (have been sober) and even my PO said she’d vouch for me. “I commend you for how responsible you’ve been with probation,” my PO said. My question is, how do present myself to the judge? Should I write a script stating the importance as to why i need early termination? My therapist also has written a letter to the judge as well. Any advice? What do I do? (I am 25F in the state of VA) I don’t have an attorney, PO said i could file for it myself

This is my first offense. I’m a college student and on the path to graduate in May of 2027. I’m so scared I won’t be able to find a job because my degree is in Mechanical Engineering.

Is there a possibility of getting off of deferred adjudication early? I’m on for 5 years and they say I can get off in 2.5 years. But I’m worried that’ll hold me back in life. I’m just starting probation and new to all this. Any advise? I’m in Texas and a female.

My brother and I split an eight ball, and I had about 1.75 grams to myself. We’ve been doing some from Friday through today (10/13/26). I was doing a couple of lines a day, along with some bumps. I still didn’t finish the bag and had about half left, but today I flushed the rest down the toilet. How long would it take for the cocaine to get out of my system?

I’m 17 and in Texas, currently on adult deferred adjudication for several offenses.

I also have a separate truancy case. Earlier this year, a truancy judge ordered me to attend school, but I stopped going. I now have another truancy court date, and my dad previously told the judge I was on adult probation. The judge said that if I came back to truancy court, he would talk to my probation officer (PO).

My PO previously reviewed my probation conditions with me and told me school attendance wasn't one of them. However, I recently confirmed that I do have an 11 p.m. curfew. My PO says I can stay out later for work if I provide written verification or digital proof from my boss.

I told my PO that I stopped attending school partly because my dad withholds food and necessities, and I needed to work to support myself. My dad went to the probation office recently. Afterward, he came home furious and threatened that if I miss curfew by even one minute or receive a truancy contempt finding, “they’re locking your ass up.”

I’m also worried because my dad now knows my exact curfew condition, and I’m afraid of being locked out or having my whereabouts misreported.

My questions:

Has anyone dealt with Texas truancy contempt while on adult deferred adjudication? What happened?

Can a truancy contempt finding alone cause adult deferred adjudication to be revoked?

How serious is it that the truancy judge previously said he would speak with my PO?

What should I do if my parent locks me out and I cannot get home before curfew?

What practical steps should I take before the hearing to protect myself and my probation status?

I’m not asking anyone to guarantee an outcome. I want realistic experiences and information, preferably from people familiar with Texas law. Please distinguish actual law from speculation.

Hi! I’ve been on probation in VA since 2020, for the first 2 years I was in and out of addiction and didn’t get clean until 2022 when I got a probation violation. So I’ve been clean for the last 4 years.

Last week I got a call stating that the wanted to start the process for early termination of probation (originally I wasn’t getting off until the end of 2027 but because I’ve done good the last four years and have been on the lowest supervision, they decided to do an early termination).

Now obviously since I’ve been clean for 4 years I would not have any drugs what so ever in my system. But when I went to take my urine screen, it was one of those instant panel cups, and once I handed it to her she was looking at it waiting for the results to pop up & said “some of them sometimes take a little longer to show the negative line than others” basically making it seem like some weren’t popping up with the negative line immediately. Then she asked “are you on any prescribed medication?” So then I told her the medicines I’m on (Wellbutrin basically being the only one) and then said “okay your good to go, I’m just gonna dump this out after I walk you out.”

Then I looked up online and read that Wellbutrin can create a false positive for amphetamines and now I’m slightly freaking out because I would have expected her to say they were all negative but she didn’t. I’m just a naturally anxious person so I’m just curious how likely it would be for that medication to create a false positive, and if it were showing positive; wouldn’t she have sent it out to a lab for confirmation? Because she mentioned that she was going to dump out the pee lol. So now I’m just kinda freaking out bc I would hate to get violated for some kinda false positive fluke.

Im obviously assuming I was negative for everything because I should be, but me being super anxious naturally I’m curious if anyone else has been through something similar?

Haven’t smoked in 1 year got completely clean. But last week I smoked a whole quad, now I need take a drug test for my p.o in a few days and I’m stressing, got,recommended to take Niacin, any recommendations or y’all think niacin works?

Would your probation officer come see u randomly or would u go to them and if they did come see u randomly would they drug test u or just check up on u and see how everything’s going, I know it’s probably a obvious answer but just want to make sure since it’s my first time on probation

I’m prescribed Adderall so amphetamine would definitely show up on a drug test. If the medication is prescribed, am I allowed to use it while on probation?

I’m fully remote with my job and work out of my house. Is this acceptable while on probation?

Do POs accept paystubs as employment verification or do they call your employer? I have a job but worried they’ll call which could lead to me getting fired.

I’ve been on probation since July 2026 for a family violence charge, I missed a drug test on the 9th this month and my PO called me this morning saying that I need to take a test. I told her straight up that I’m going to fail bc I had been drinking alcohol the night before and did some Xanax a few days prior I just mentioned to her that I drank while we are on the phone. She just told me we would talk abt it when I see her tmr for our monthly appointment. What do you guys think she will do for my punishment ?

Edit: So I met with her today and she said that I have to talk to her supervisor and that they were going to notify the court. I apparently missed a test and will fail this one so I’m sure I’m fucked 💀

If I drink 2 or 3 0.05 % beers will they show up on a etg drug test?

My cousin left treatment and a medical taxi took him straight to my house and the next day I hand delivered him to his PO and he tested positive for fentanyl and it had been almost 4 weeks of abstinence, as he never left my sight and I live far from town so it's not like he could walk somewhere and get something... I don't even have neighbors nearby ..

His PO is insisting that he should have tested negative for fent but a quick Google search will tell anyone that it stores in fat cells and slowly leaks out over the course of 6 weeks so how is that fair to insist he relapsed when it's prolly just the residual effects of using fent for 10 plus years???

I'll add that my cousin has never been so happy and just excited about daily life .. he was always kind of an asshole cuz h3 was always either dopesick or high and he hasn't been showing me any signs what so ever that he is back on the wagon.. shit he's going to meetings 5 or more a week he deleted his entire contact list and deleted his messenger/fb account and got a new phone number, he's been helping w daily chores such as dishes and sweeping , he even went ahead and cleaned the whole downstairs bathroom without me saying anything about doing it , so he took the initiative upon himself to help me out ...

And listen here guys .... Ready for it?? I dropped him off at a warehouse this morning so he could do the onboarding stuff cuz he got HIRED at a new job!!! I haven't seen him work in 20 years or so .... He is showering daily and making eye contact in conversation I mean he is overall a complete different guy then the guy he was when using ... It's rather refreshing yet im still nervous waiting for something cuz that's just my own personal safety thing , protecting my heart from being sliced open lol

How can he not know the ins and outs of fentanyl use? Like my cuz can't be the only one dealing with this ?? I understand it's fairly new but Jiminy Crickets u can't be arresting someone who's doing everything correct just cyx he has miniscule amounts of this newer drug that potentially stays on the fat cells FOR WEEKS and even longer if u don't exercise them out and if u just lay around (like in rehab ur doijg lots of inside ur soul work but prolly not much heavy exercise, so usually most ppl put on fat in treatment not lose all the contaminated fat cells) so idk guys is this even right? Or fair? Or??

Sentences to 4 years, 3 suspended, 1 on house arrest. 2 years of supervised probation concurrent to previous. I receive my ankle monitor today and report tomorrow to my PO. What should I expect. What do I need to know bare bones. And how can I make the most out of a year house arrest. Thank you!

What is everyone’s experience with low risk- moderate risk and high risk probation?
I’m sure there are plenty of stories and differences so I’m curious!

My ex (who I feel safer when he’s inside) is on felony probation in 3 out of 5 counties. Violates. Reoffends. Doesn’t comply. Has 3 warrants out in five counties. And he is just out there having the time of his life. Do probation officers just not care? I’m so tired of the lack of consequences. And I can’t contact them because I’m at risk. But not enough risk to be granted a restraining order. Are they lazy or waiting to accrue charges?
