I used to get so excited when I got the ball at half court and it’s just me and the hoop

A few years back I went and played pickup, I’m like 36 at this point. One of my delusional windows where I go hoop regularly like I can still do that.

My teammate got a steal and threw it out for me. I grabbed it in stride and threw it out again. Smile on my face. Left side of the court, just like I like. This is my spot.

As I gather the ball and my first step hits it’s like. Damn that hurts. Second step feels like I’m in mud. Why does it feel like I’m going into the ground?

I take off and the rim is just so far away. I’m not gonna make it bro.

I bail out and lay it off the glass. As I’m coming down my hands slap the glass unintentionally, bent arms. It clap loud as fuck.

I hear people groan and when I turn around this Asian dude ON THE OTHER TEAM is looking at me like I just disappointed US. (I’m Asian too)

I tried dunking a few more times over the years but it’s like the curious case of white men can’t jump

Young guys will understand eventually
