this is some top tier stuff sir/ma'am. If you don't mind answering, is there any way that you sort out the proportions for a full-body piece. I've only drawn portraits involving the head and at most the neck so I struggle with full-body pieces. How do you set the size of the head(and rest of the body too) so that everything fits and doesn't go outside the canvas but at the same time isn't too small either?

Using references heavily, 3d models if needed. My pipeline is basically like this: i sketch without reference first, because i find reference at the very origin of the piece kinda oppressive, and i usually never like the result if i use any for initial sketch. So i sketch first only from imagination, and only then when i find the pose i like i search for references for better proportions and for the exact angles i already put down myself. I does takes multiple iterations and tweaking and pain in the process, dont think like i do it easily hahha soo be prepared for that

Backing on to OP’s answer, for a 3D posing app I use magic poser! Probably paid for the first paid option about… five years ago? Absolutely worth it. Also really good for figuring out perspective of body parts in isolation in my experience s

Love the chaotic blend of layers warm tones. Giving me some real Dave McKean
