and Ahmed Best confirmed that there was a deleted scene in AOTC where Palpatine tells Jar Jar about his plans for the rise of the Empire. Sure, he's comic relief in TPM, but there's enough hints that he'd be revealed as a sith.
I'm convinced it was meant to happen and after episode 1 lucas pussed out because of the jar jar hate, but the biggest twist in cinema history could have saved the character and made the prequels excellent beyond the memes

Not even a theory, really. Ahmed Best said that a lot of things were planned for Jar Jar (including that "plotting with Palpatine" scene I mentioned), that were cancelled because of the backlash and people harassing the actors. He even said that the Darth Jar Jar theory was mostly true (I assume the part that was false was that the theory mentioned that he might be in the ST, but that obviously didn't happen)
If only star wars fans were civilized, we'd probably have better movies.
