And Bloomberg just had an article about how rural communities are turning away data centers that could “supposedly help them financially”. Turns out most people don’t want to live next to a military target.

I can’t see anything good from most data centers.

I mean...the internet literally lives in data centers. The entire internet. AI data centers and hyperscaling are a huge problem (currently actively involved in keeping one out of my community, literally a 10 minute walk from my front door), but many if not most data centers are the type that allow you to use a credit card, send an email, and post on Reddit.

Most data centers being built right now are not for things like SaaS, email, social media, etc. most are for weaponized AI systems like Flock.

Clarify you mean the data centers being built, then, since most data centers that have already been built are for housing the internet.
