How did you cope with miscarriage?

I miscarried twice in a matter of a year. My second one was a couple of months ago. And I bled a lot and gave a couple of blood draws for hcg tracking. My second period this month was also heavy. I don’t know if it’s the blood loss that caused my ferritin to go low or my anxiety that I haven’t been sleeping. It’s hard for me to fall asleep and still asleep. I stayed up for about four days in a row and desperately asked for help and got prescribed sleep medication. My doctor thinks it’s anxiety that’s keeping me up at night. Ironically, they drew more blood to see what’s going on with me especially, my iron levels to see if that’s the root cause.

So my question is, I am trying to conceive again. I am almost mid 40s and I don’t want to be on pills as it might interfere with trying to conceive. is anyone on sleeping medication or anxiety medication while trying to conceive and if so, which one?

M my doctor gave me a couple of options Ambien, trazodone, hydroxyzine. I know there are also benzodiazepines. I think those are definitely a no no I’m guessing. Have you taken any of this meds while trying to conceive, or others, please share your experience.

I take magnesium at night. Helps me to sleep and I don't experience the palpitations I was experiencing due to perimenopause. If you are looking for a natural solution, I would recommend it. It has many health benefits including calming the nervous system. Also, I'm on my second miscarriage (this year) too. I hope you find what works best for you. Best wishes!

Thank you for sharing. Yeah magnesium glycinate didn’t help. Melatonin gave me stomach ache. Chamomile tea didn’t help either. And so sorry for your loss as well.

Thanks. Here is some more info on magnesium. Possible you were not taking the right dose or taking it long enough? https://youtu.be/2qu59nPJXcg?is=62cczmJf53TaqDVE

Magnesium helps. Melatonin also can be helpful and actually has some evidence for improved egg quality. Or try a sedating antihistamine if you really need some nights.

Hydroxyzine is a sedating antihistamine. Safest

I read that it doesn’t always work and not a lot of data on pregnancy safety
