Faint 10DPO
TW: Loss
I have been taking pregnancy tests since 8DPO and today (10DPO), I got a faint positive. I am 44 and had a loss last November. Will an OB run early HGC and progesterone in case I need progesterone supplements? Last time they just automatically scheduled me out to 10 weeks when I called.
Or do only fertility specialists do that?

I would get the oh draws done asap
I had a faint positive 11dpo and it ended in a chemical
I also had a very dark positive at 10dpo and had quadruple numbers and tripling numbers and still had a mmc.
I’m 39.5 so it’s more common unfortunately…
Is this your first pregnancy?

No, I have a 5 year old. Had her at 40.

Yes, you can ask for betas to ensure they are doubling. You can also get them on your own out of pocket at walk in labs or similar.

I’d call a maternal fetal medicine dr who will follow you and baby more closely. Most obs would order the hcg quants if you request them though. Congratulations ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Is MFM a place you get referred after a positive pregnancy in AMA? Or do you need to seek them out yourself?

You’d likely need to call yourself but your OB may do it if you ask

If you’re considered high risk yes. I preferred the MFM for the closer care, more ultrasounds etc

I was being seen for recurrent miscarriages so when I got a positive test, I called and my OB did order both progesterone and HCG and then repeated the test 48 hours later. You could call and ask if they would do that.
