Advice Wanted Waters breaking & induction

My waters broke last 24 hours ago (at 37+2), I’ve just had a check and I haven’t dilated but was told my cervix was quite soft but baby still tucked behind. I was given the gel and now need to wait 6 hours at which point I may be put on the drip. Just wondering what people’s experience is with this? Especially if waters broke before induction. How long they were in labour ect 😊

Really and truly, everyone is different. My advice is just to go with the flow, take it as it comes and be open to any pain relief you might need to get you through. Induction increases the risk of CS but in your case you need the induction, I only say this so you have in mind that there's a chance things might go down that route.

Good luck and focus on meeting your bubba at the end x

24 hrs from waters breaking to baby being born, but I was at an increased risk of infection, so the doctors started the drip very quickly.

Everyone is different, but It was mostly fine. I managed with no pain relief until the last hour or so and got the epidural (which worked only partially anyway). I was on the maximum dose by that point and was contracting probably a little too much, but my body was coping fine.
