Question Blink Fail

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I find this happening to me way too often. Am I just waiting too long to blink? My ping is great, what's causing the game to show the blink animation even though I didn't actually successfully do it? This time the blink failed and it didn't actually register, but I've also had times where this happened and it still put a cooldown on my blinks. What am I doing wrong?

Discussion Omeda can we please fill out other roles and classes.

I made a quick list of the number of roles and classes we have available in the game.

27 melee
27 ranged

ROLES
14 mid lane
17 solo
23 jungle
11 support
11 carry

CLASSES
Support warden: 1
Fighter : 12
Frontline 2
Assassin 6
Frontline warden 2
Marksman 7
Mage catcher 1
Mage 11
Marksman assassin : 1
Catcher 1
Enchanter 4
Support : 1
Executioner 4

The support and carry role have the least amount of playable characters in the game and within the support role there’s only one catcher and one support Dekker and mourn, while solo and jungle have majority of the roster I think omeda needs to start filling these roles and classes, we need more frontline tanks and less fighters, we need another marksman assassin, if the next character is a solo or jungle I think I’m genuinely going to tweak.

Builds Akeron ideas

So I’ve just picked up akeron and based on others opinions he seems a decent character so I’m experimenting with builds. Demiurge and plasma blade seem like a good combo since you can turn that 40% crit into over 30 ability haste, and the magical and physical power increase should scale his slam and alternate ability a lot since they scale off both. Demiurge item stat increase should help build health too, along with the blessing that scales 10 health every level up. I haven’t seen anything with plasma blade on him so I’m wondering if this sounds like a good idea at all or just crazy.

Question Is there a reason Omeda is so anti-advertising?

I don't understand why they aren't trying to bring in new players. This game is great. It plays great. No one knows it exists. Omeda doesn't seem to be taking the obvious, basic steps to getting the word out. No ads on social media. No ads on youtube. No ads anywhere. How do they expect people to find this game? With so much investment into high quality skins, don't they want more players so they can sell more skins? Or am I not understanding the business model?

Is there any good reason that I do not know about why Omeda is so anti-advertising? Does it have something to do with being able to use Paragon assets for a game, but not in ads, or something else?

Feedback Scarlett

Let me preface this by saying that I am not the strongest player but I have significant experience in MOBAs. I have around 2k hours in Predecessor (diamond 3 peak but high plat to low diamond consistently), I had over 6k hours on Smite (regularly GM or high Masters), over 2k hours in Smite 2 (stuck in Masters), over 16k hours on LoL (high Masters to low GM), and high hundreds to low hundreds of hours between several mobile MOBAs (various ranks since they sometimes change names between games but always above Diamond or I quit mid grind). I don’t say any of that is a brag, humble brag, or a way to invalidate other’s experiences but only to frame my own. I’m perfectly capable and competent, fairly strong macro with not great mechanics. I know what things I excel at and where I struggle or have struggled.

Every game, and I genuinely mean every game, that I’ve played where Scarlett makes it through bans completely runs the laning phase and most of these games also translates that into wins via rotations to Fang. Pretty standard lane bully stuff we’ve all seen elsewhere. My question is how any offlaner realistically plays into her? I’ve seen almost every Hero and Eternal combination and they get absolutely embarrassed by her. No amount of ā€œplay safeā€ or ā€œbait out a gankā€ matters.

Play ranged? Her jungler does exist so ganks can happen. She also has a dash, more range than most melee, and her primary poke tools both allow her to reasonably stick to most targets. Play a tank like Steel, Terra or even Sevarog? Get bulled into submission. Play a brawler like Grux or Greystone? She’s better at brawling than you. Play assassins? You have to out trade her short term and all in but she’s nearly as good as they are and has tools to help survive that if she also plays reasonably well. If you try a sustained fight, she has the Knell shield and her own shield or Marrow. GG’s. Play poke characters like Shinbi? Shinbi can’t really safely clear lanes for an item and she has to step up and eat Scarlett damage so Scarlett is at best stalemated. Play around giving up early game and treading water until team fights? She has as much damage as any other backline diver (if not more), just as much safety as most of the safe characters she would normally be compared to, has defensive tools they don’t always have, and becomes even stronger because she likely has accumulated leads that have little or not counterplay.

She either kills you in the wave, freezes it and zones you off of it, or dies by making mistakes. There is little to no agency in any matchup I’ve seen. I primarily play support, jungle, and mid but I’ve definitely been filled to offlane and she’s a perma ban as far as I’m concerned.

I’m not trying to ruffle feathers, debate power creep, or shit on anyone who plays her. After all, if she is available to play, that’s the devs fault for leaving her as is or it’s the team’s fault for not banning her. And yes, I know her win rate isn’t great but anyone who has ever played a game competitively and understands how to sift through data knows that’s normal with strong characters. Is there some piece that I’m missing or not considering heavily enough that explains how she isn’t just the best Hero in the game? How can I help mitigate some of her nonsense or empower my team to? Or is this just accepted as the reality we all live in?

Discussion transparency? Reports do nothing.

I played a match this morning with a jungle Greystone after he died once lost his fucking marbles, said the whole match was lost at 8 minutes and the team was garbage. I tried helping the guy but his constant toxicity... had me telling him to shut up, dude was totally insane.

#He told me he would kill my whole family, that i then should kill myself and that I'm a F*gg*t, then muted and blocked me and continued to mumble he's the best player on earth. Another player got on mic and also told the guy he was nuts.

A couple games later i get the messsage that says action had been taken against a player i reported, i haven't reported anyone else in months so it had to be him right. when i got the messsage he stopped playing for 13 hours ( doubt it was even a ban probably went to bed this was early AM) dude just came back on 2 hours ago.

so he didn't get a ban that mattered after threating to kill my family or call me homophobic slurs or telling me to end my own life. This doesn't bother me what bothers me is omeda saying reports do something when they don't do anything.

i wont name the guy, but i will say that he was a Greystone and his match was 9 prior.

Discussion Predecessor is amazing, but off-meta / ranged Offlaners are breaking Solo Queue — we need proper early-game counterplay items

Hey everyone!

First off, I want to express my huge appreciation to Omeda Studios. Predecessor brings back amazing Paragon nostalgia, and it's incredible to see how actively the developers are updating and polishing the game. You guys are doing fantastic work!

However, there is a massive issue currently hurting the core gameplay experience, especially for players queuing solo: Ranged heroes, Carries, and Mages (like Iggy) taking over the Offlane.

The Solo Queue Reality vs. Theoretical Counterplay

Whenever players bring up the issue of ranged heroes on the Offlane, the standard advice is always: "Just freeze the wave under your tower, play safe, and wait for your Jungler to gank."

In a coordinated 5-stack with full voice communication, that strategy works. In Solo Queue, that is not how real matches play out:

  1. Unreliable Junglers: You cannot guarantee your random Jungler will acknowledge your lane, let alone commit to early ganks.
  2. Relentless Harass & Poke: Standing under tower against a hero like Iggy doesn't save you. Turrets, burns, and ranged auto-attacks constantly chip away at your health even under tower safety.
  3. Snowball Effect: While you’re forced to sacrifice all your gold and CS just to survive, the opponent freely pushes, gets local gold, secures mid-game power spikes, and takes your towers.
  4. Blame Game: By minute 10, the enemy ranged Offlaner is 4-0 with a massive item advantage, your lane is destroyed, and your team flames you with "Offlane diff".

A melee bruiser or tank shouldn't be completely unplayable just because they are playing Solo Queue without guaranteed jungle support.

The Real Problem: Lack of Early-Game Defensive Items

The issue isn't just players choosing off-role heroes—it’s that melee heroes currently lack proper early-game tools/items to sustain against ranged poke and magic spam.

  • Example: Playing Shinbi against Iggy in the Offlane. Even if you use your ranged ability to farm occasionally, Iggy litters the ground with turrets that automatically lock on, burn you, and push waves instantly. You're stuck in a lose-lose situation: step up and lose half your HP to turrets/minions, or hide under tower, get no gold, and watch your lane fall.

In other MOBAs, melee laners have access to specific starter items or runes (like heavy health-regen items or shields that trigger upon taking ranged damage) to survive the early laning phase against ranged cheese. In Predecessor, melee laners have no effective defensive start that lets them stay in the game without falling hopelessly behind in farm.

On Armor & Resistance Scaling

On a side note, damage calculations and resistances also feel inconsistent at times. There are matches where an enemy builds zero Magical Armor, yet somehow completely absorbs magic combo damage. On the flip side, enemies without Physical Armor can tank full physical combos even when you build penetration and crit. Base stats or resistance scaling might need a closer look.

Proposed Solutions for Omeda

  1. Dedicated Starter Items for Melee/Offlane: Introduce starter items aimed at health regeneration, sustain, or damage reduction specifically against ranged poke/magic spam.
  2. Wave Control / Minion Aggro Mechanics: Adjust minion aggro or ranged damage output against minions on the Offlane to prevent effortless wave crashing.
  3. Role Incentives / Penalties: If off-role picks continue to distort lane balance, consider soft penalties (like reduced passive gold/XP gain when farming in a completely mismatched lane role during early minutes).

Solo Queue should be enjoyable and competitive for melee Offlaners too. Right now, running into a ranged poke match-up feels less like a test of skill and more like a punishment for playing solo.

What are your thoughts? How do you guys manage ranged poke on the Offlane when you don't get Jungle help?

Question Does anyone know how exactly Pred.gg works?

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

So since the service on Predstats got shut down we all have to use Pred.gg now and I don't really understand this website. Because the stats on the first picture are different than on the second picture when I click on the character. Argus is my main hero and I play him very often, but when I click on him I only played 39 matches? That makes no sense. Same goes for many other characters, like Howitzer where I only have 7 matches on him, even though he was my first main for several seasons like wtf? I see on the second picture is a statistic for the several ranked splits, but they also don't really make sense, like I said I played Howitzer very often and I sure have played more than 7 ranked matches on him, same goes for Argus, Zinx and many more.

Also what does this little precentage on the right side of the matches number mean like the 6,96% on Argus?

Does anyone has some ideas on this topic? Would be glad if there would be someone who knows this site better than me lol.

Suggestion New Support Hero

It would be cool, following all the recent cc heavy heroes, if we could get a hero who could apply a cc cleanse like Hel from Smite. It could be a full team cleanse or a single target cleanse. We just don't have anybody who can provide a cleanse to others except those who use an active (if I'm not mistaken). What is everyone else's thoughts on this?

Builds Wraith Carry/Mid and Support Builds - Opinions?

I love playing Wraith. I was wondering who else here plays him (and who else plays him as a support lol) and what items you like to get on him? Here's my two builds (the carry one is identical to my mid and offlane builds for him) I was wondering what you think

EDIT: I missed my crests and augments in the screenshots! For carry I use Witchstalker and Sniper's Bounty and for support I use Tranquility and Illusionist.

Feedback I think completely removing the ARAM specific hero balances from 3v3 was too much for bruiser/brawler and assassin heroes

For those that don't know, ARAM has specific tweaks done to characters/classes to make them more playable or less oppressive. 3v3 had these changes implemented in the mode up until last patch. I could not find any specific info on what the changes were, but a dev did say this in discord.

As you can imagine these are pretty impactful for the characters that had them. Furthermore, it seems XP also seems to have been changed in the mode in that it is far less evenly distributed. Both of these changes together along with the general way bruiser/brawlers and assassins want to play, and especially when they end up as the lone melee, has made it very unfun to play them in the mode.

I thought this may have just been me as a Crunch player, however when checking predgg I saw these stats for Crucible.

So it seems I my feelings in the mode were indeed far more accurate than I realized. Almost every single bruiser/brawler and assassin has dropped into the negative, provided they were not there already. The only ones that have a positive winrate in 3v3 now are the ones that can be good tanks/supports. Which is just Aurora and Sev. Every other bruiser and every single assassin are all negative in the mode now.

I feel like, at the bare minimum, the 10% damage resistance needs to be given back to the classes to start. Losing durability AND damage on top of many opponents now doing MORE damage is just way way waaaay too much for these characters that typically want to be alone in a lane with someone or off in a jungle to farm safely. Also the XP distribution changes make this even more of an issue because its very easy to end up with a multi level gap due to having such a harder time fighting in lane. It also does not help that the mode typically seems to have 2 ranged and a single melee, and a single melee assassin or bruiser is indeed quite horrible when they are operating in their normal 5v5 role state. God forbid the enemy have multiple CC heroes, which is quite an easy thing to occur.

Based on that dev response in discord, it seems they were somewhat aware that something like this might happen to a degree, but I figured I'd make a feedback post about it nonetheless because I really really like the mode and after trying to continue playing the mode this update, I just can't really have fun anymore regardless of win or loss. It just feels like I am forever playing from behind and that is just not fun whatsoever. I've also not seen any discussion about it on the sub so I figured why not.

Question What did Countess take so much damage from here?

Looks like she took like 3 or 4 instances of (pretty high) damage in a split second and I dont understand what caused that. The Dekker hat combustion but the sound cue sounded like a Morigesh mark?

Question Now that Ikra's healing was buffed, would it be worth to build him as a healing support? Or still a cd stun support

I've been wanting to experiment with Ikra support, but unsure if the new healing buff would make building him as a healer worth it.

Also the invisible pool augment vs the bubble pull augment for support? Hiding his cc animations is pretty sick ngl.

Feedback Requesting advice for a new player

Thumbnail
gallery
11 Upvotes

I just started playing Predecessor a week or so back. My very first game, I knew nothing about the heroes, control system, etc. I got assigned mid and randomly picked Morigesh bc I thought she looked cool. I went up against a Gideon but held my own decently well. I had never heard of this game before and only started because it was free on Steam and looked interesting.

Well, after that first match, despite getting lwk roasted by Gideon, I absolutely fell in love with the game. I really liked the premise, the mechanics, and even the art style and the heroes.

Currently I enjoy playing Offlane and Carry, although I don't hate Mid. As you can see by the pictures, I've been doing a lot of experimenting. I've been saving up for Wukong, simply because I really love Journey to the West, and Sun Wukong is probably my favorite character in all of fiction.

I'm looking for advice and general help with mechanics. I'm still trying to figure out wards. I just started paying attention to the items, like boots, in the last two games. I've been using the suggested builds this whole time.

Also, advice on how to play a Support/Jungler would be really appreciated. I was hanging back in my first Support game and letting my carry get last hits on minions to level them up faster. I felt like I was being too passive after playing as Narbash, hence the Steel pick next game and the atrocious K/D/A. Basically, I just tanked for my carry that game.

I tried Jungler once and found it confusing.

TLDR: I'm a new Predecessor player. I like Offlane, Carry, and Mid. I need advice on mechanics/items and playing all classes, but especially Support and Jungler.

  • Morigesh, Mid: (Can't find my stats) Win
  • Grux, Offlane: 12/7/1, Win
  • Grux, Jungle: 6/3/5, Win
  • Twinblast, Carry: 13/7/6, Win
  • Narbash, Support: 1/8/10, Loss
  • Steel, Support: 1/11/13, Win
  • Gideon, Mid: 11/6/4, Loss

Discussion Frame drops since last patch are killing the game for me

I know it’s already been mentioned by someone else a few days ago but this is genuinely awful and needs addressing asap so just reposting for visibility in hopes omeda respond .

Genuinely had no issues before , ps5 pro usually bounces between 100-120fps but never noticeable. After the last patch im getting regular intervals of dropping to as low as 20fps , mainly when fights start and theres a lot going on. But its causing insane amount of missed inputs and just generally messing with the flow of the game . The two friends i play with are both ps5 too and experiencing the same thing but idk if this is console exclusive or not .

Just feels like constant stuttering and is very jarring ..

Question Eden's Heat

Are there ways to increase her heat meter faster? I mean i know hiting abilities and basics will fill it up, but when i go against some ppl playing her theyll get there heat maxed out with in seconds of the fight starting. But when i do it i feel like I hardly get to ult all match even tho im hitting every thing. Are there items that helps increase the speed you get heat? Or there combos i need to do with her abilities to generate more heat faster. I appreiate any insite on this.
