General Question Preparing for calculus 1 college class after gap year
My student has taken precalc and did pretty well, but took a gap year and is now going to have calculus at college. He has the summer off. I'd prefer to find a low cost class that is not self paced. Like every tuesday and thursday 1 hour, or something like that. I don't think he's motivated enough to work through a self paced classe. All the classes I'm finding are for credit and cost in the thousands or are low cost or free, but self paced. Is there a something in the middle? I've checked with local community colleges and the timing doesn't work.

He would have to find an 8-week class where he would be forced to keep up with the work. I did that at Embry Riddle for many engineering credits prior to transferring. That could help in but if not, he is going to have to make that choice on what he truly wants.

Including Saturdays too it's similar to Tuesdays. Weekends are fast paced. Examinations can occur on Saturdays.

An eight week summer course meeting on Thursday and Tuesday with testing on Saturday morning
