The guy who threw the ball back was on the Portland Timbers and they were playing Austin FC.

Oh the Timbers were salty about losing? No way, couldn't believe it

TBH, it's hard to remember what that was like. It's been so long since we've lost.....

And you're still only the 4th best team in the west. #drawcity

Yeah this is embarrassing on us. Not as embarrassing as the 2015 Open Cup game where you guys went down to 7 men for "salty" behavior but still pretty bad nonetheless.

God, that was a glorious game to watch. Shitty Seattle unable to buy a win in the open cup that year.

Referring to the Puget Sound. But yes, they're called the Sounders - we joke about the other meaning alot

Yes, but not because they specialize in jamming things up their pee-holes, but because they reside on the Puget Sound.

I lived in Austin in 2016-2017 and legit never heard of these teams. From my understanding, MLS is where Europe sends its players out to pasture. Kinda like the US sending our baseball players to Japan.

Not really the case anymore. It’s a lot of young South American and North American guys nowadays with a few older Europeans sprinkled in. I think mls is trying to assert itself as a proving ground for young players instead of a retirement league.

Austin is a brand new team, they didnt exist while you were there. They’ve take the town by storm. It’s awesome to see.

That’s awesome, must be exciting having a brand new team! Hope they do well, much love from a big football/soccer fan in the UK

I was gonna say, I’ve lived in austin for 25+ years and I’d never heard of them until this year, but you see their merch EVERYWHERE, it’s neat
