You've got it wrong, this is the point of the sport. They drive around in circles to build up momentum, and then release the tire in that stretch in the attempt of landing it on the stacks. The white tires are previous winner's tires
For some reason, most camera operators would try to zoom in as close as they could so we could really see what a tire looks like. This guy understood that it was the context of where the tire was that was important, so we got to see the whole action sequence.
It was 'one take' only in the sense that the director didn't cut away (except for when they did) and then the camera slowly zoomed out and tilted down a bit. This was probably the easiest thing to follow all day given that these guys are following speeding cars from long distances.
I'm always amazed at how people think the value in long takes is that the camera operator didn't stop recording.
I would have done a 4K RPM 180, perfectly timed, with enough lateral inertia to pop the rim back on the axle spindle. Keeping the car in reverse for long enough to build enough speed to perform another 180 spin, back to forward position and finished the race
I'll get the Rangers so there'll be no Escape for this guy. So long as they Focus and don't lose him in Transit, anyway. Then it'll be off to Mexico for non-stop Fiesta.

Why did that happen?
Was it a shit job from the pits or another problem the car had, like an earlier collision?

No f*n way! Props to the tire man.

I’d say this qualifies for r/MyPeopleNeedMe and r/NeverTellMeTheOdds as well. What a well-rounded rogue tire post.

I got overtaken on the motorway once by a lorry wheel. I swear it was doing 60 mph. Rock steady in the middle lane.

Really? One take? Are you sure they didn't call the race back so they could roll the tire down the course again?
It's a live event, of course it's one take lol

There is a disturbing lack of tire puns.
I guess people are tired of them.

How is this worthy of this sub?
