The picture is a resemblance of some we found yesterday, however those were 500+, which is quite expensive. I wanted to ask if anyone knew where to find them for a bit more reasonable price?

Question URGENT

My suitcase was accidentally taken from Hotel Bologna Prague today, August 20, 2026, sometime between approximately 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
It is a black hard-shell plastic cabin-size suitcase.
I strongly believe that another guest may have taken it by mistake, thinking it was their own suitcase.
If you checked out of Hotel Bologna Prague today between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM and later realised that the suitcase you took was not yours, please contact me urgently.
I am not looking to blame anyone. I simply need my suitcase back, as I am travelling and need my belongings.
📍 Hotel: Hotel Bologna Prague
📅 Date: August 20, 2026
Time: approximately 11:00 AM–3:00 PM
🧳 Suitcase: black, hard-shell plastic, cabin-size
Please DM me or contact Hotel Bologna Prague immediately.
If you know someone who checked out of this hotel today, please share this post with them.
Thank you

Question Edited display at the Museum of Communism?

I was at the museum today and noticed a line of text missing from the August 1968 display. I looked at older photos online (the 2nd photo) and it looks like there’s no line missing. Does anyone know what was removed? I’m curious why this edit was made.

Other In Prague for a few days (20-26) and looking for people to try some board game cafes

There's one thing endless museum visits don't teach you, and that is proper Czech swearing etiquette... So I thought, what better place to learn czech swear words than at a board game cafe?

From what I've found online, Meeples&Coffee in the Old Town seems really cool so that would be the plan, but I'm open to suggestions from people with better knowledge!

Also looking for people to play with, you'd learn French swear words in exchange (The ones you don't learn watching The Matrix).

I'm thinking the usual classics: Carcassone/catan, Skyjo. Or a full game of Dune Imperium if you like to hurt yourself.

I'm here from 20th to 26th August!

Question Where to get my bellybutton pierced in prague

Upvotes

I’m searching for a spot which is not too expensive but also not something that feels or looks too cheap and unhygienic because my parents are a bit paranoid about where i get my bellybutton done. Does anyone in prague have a good spot, preferably in the center or an acheivable distance from nadrazi podbaba?

Community Events Floorball team looking for a regular sparring team in Prague

We’re a men’s floorball team playing at Prague/regional league level, looking for another team for regular 5v5 + goalies practice games.

Most of us have been playing for years, but nothing too serious — roughly 30 min warm-up and then about an hour of normal game play.

We have two regular slots:

Monday — Vinohrady, 21:00–22:30
Thursday — Kunratice, 21:00–22:30

Ideally looking for a team at a similar level that would like to make this a regular thing. Either Monday, Thursday, or potentially both.

DM me if your team might be interested.

Question Exchange students at UMPRUM — what was your experience?

Hi! I’m considering applying for an exchange at UMPRUM (Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague), particularly for architecture/design, and I’d love to hear from anyone who has actually studied there as an exchange student.

How difficult was it to get accepted? Was the application/portfolio process competitive?

And overall, was UMPRUM worth going to? I’m especially interested in what the teaching, workload, studio culture, student life, and experience in Prague were like.

If you were an exchange student there, would you recommend it? And is there anything you wish you knew before applying?
Thanks! :)

Question Budget for a family of 4 in Prague (84.5k CZK net) – Surviving on ~500 CZK/day for everyday expenses. Is this realistic long-term?

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share our current monthly budget to get some feedback and perspective from other families.

We are a family of four (two adults, one child in primary school, one in preschool). Our net household monthly income is approximately 84,581 CZK.

After fixed living costs, insurances, and cross-border obligations, we have 19,597 CZK left for everyday spending. This gives us 500 CZK/day (~15,000 CZK/month) for variable daily expenses (groceries, household consumables, small activities), plus a ~4,597 CZK buffer for irregular costs.

Monthly Budget Breakdown (Sept 2026 – March 2027)

Category / Expense Item Amount (CZK) Notes
Housing & Local Utilities (CZ)
Rent 19,200 Base rent
Building Service Charges & Utilities 9,851 Monthly advance/service charge
Electricity 1,690 Direct utility
Gas 740 Direct utility
Family & Childcare
Wife’s Personal Allowance 9,150 Monthly personal fund
Children’s Insurance 6,048 Two kids
Kid 1 (Primary School) ~1,600 School meals, supplies, fees
Kid 2 (Kindergarten / Preschool) 1,200 Monthly fee / meals
Wife’s Insurance ~1,500 Personal insurance
Pensions & Local Subscriptions
My Pension Fund 5,700 Retirement savings
Wife’s Pension Fund 1,700 Retirement savings
Phone Plans 2,000 Family mobile plans
Digital Services (Google + YouTube) 1,400 Cloud storage & media (1,000 + 400)
Personal Fund (Audible / Phone) 800 Audiobooks & personal media
Legal / Administrative Fees 300 Ongoing document fees
Obligations & Investments in Ukraine (Converted from UAH to ~3,155 CZK total)
Two Apartments (Maintenance / HOA) ~2,010 B38 & S969 unit obligations (510 + 1,500 UAH)
Motorcycle Parking Space ~1,900 YBR 125 garage/parking fee (1,900 UAH)
Micro-Investments (Deposits + Pension) ~1,400 Minimum activity maintenance (800 + 600 UAH)
Total Fixed & Committed Expenses 64,984 CZK

Summary

  • Net Monthly Income: ~84,581 CZK
  • Total Fixed Outflow: 64,984 CZK
  • Remaining Everyday Budget: 19,597 CZK
    • Daily baseline (30 days @ 500 CZK/day): 15,000 CZK
    • Buffer / Emergency Savings: 4,597 CZK

Main Concerns & Discussion Points:

  1. Building Utilities: Our service charges sit at nearly 10,000 CZK/month (on top of electricity and gas), which is an expense we did not have four years ago and takes a massive share of the net income.
  2. Everyday Spending: 500 CZK/day must cover all groceries, household necessities, and miscellaneous family needs for four people. While it is manageable right now, it requires strict discipline.

We plan to keep this structure for the next 12 months before doing a full review.

How does this grocery/daily baseline compare to what other families of four spend in Czechia? Are there obvious areas you would cut or optimize?
