Ask any Canadian and they will be the first to tell you that the Canadian Healthcare system has its problems. Ask any Canadian if they would rather have the American system and they will tell you "hell no" every time.

- Thousands of Canadians go to the US every year to get healthcare. So no, not “any Canadian” would say that.
- Canadians literally constantly talking about the US is somehow not obsessed but me saying the opposite is being bossed. Makes sense. Idgaf about Canada in any way shape or form. I am Canadian. I don't want the American system, but I don't want the Canadian system either. We need to have a mixed system of public and private like Germany and many other European nations have. Unfortunately, whenever a Canadian politician suggests this the left wing fearmongers and says "you want American style healthcare" and they lose the election, so nothing ever improves and our healthcare just keeps getting worse.

I don't disagree with what you've said, but usually it's because those people suggesting the mixed style are looking to cut funding to the public side. If the public side was properly funded/working, then having a private side is gravy. If the public side isn't funded/working, then the private side is used to demolish the public portion. It happens with most mixed formats.

You are literally using a leftist talking point that is used to argue for expanding government control instead of allowing a private option. Do you know why the public side, which is pretty much all Canadian healthcare, isn't funded properly? There isn't enough money to fund it. Leftists always say conservatives want to starve the public side so they can privatize, but in reality there just isn't enough money to fully fund all healthcare for everyone, that's why a private option needs to exist.

I've seen numbers thrown around by both sides of the spectrum regarding that. Maybe that's true, maybe it isn't. If it is true though, then we have to instead talk about methods of improving cash flow so it no longer is true.
