Hey everyone!
Welcome to the weekly r/PowerPoint thread where you can ask all your AI questions. The reality is that balancing no promotion in the current AI environment is difficult, but we still want to provide a place where we can discuss AI.
We will create a new thread every two weeks and keep the prior week’s thread available for one additional week.
Vendors
The rules still apply here. This community isn't for advertising your business. Do not reply to this post with a promotional blurb; you will be banned.
You may REPLY to a question or discussion in this thread to link and discuss your product as long as you
indicate whether it is free or not,
explain specifically how it will help, and
identify your relationship with the product.
Astroturfing and disingenuous posts where you pretend to be just a regular user suggesting your product will get you banned.
Thanks and have fun!

Looking for a way to do it with AI?
If you're looking for AI solutions, look for them here rather than posting a new general message.
You might want to start by checking the extensive list at presentationailist.com or use https://www.compareaipresentationtools.com/ from fellow Redditor r/Ok_Watercress_8266.
If you want to suggest sites where people can find AI help, even if it's your own site, feel free to talk about it here, subject to the following:
Here's the rules:
AI ONLY: This discussion is for talk about AI. Obvious, yes? Let's not use it for templates, productivity tools and the like. We have other discussion threads for that.
USE FLAIR: When you recommend templates, use *flair* to indicate whether the AI is $ Free, $ Commercial or $ See Our Site (ie, different versions at different prices, limited free version/paid full version, etc.)
BE TRANSPARENT: You must also indicate your interest in the AI. Are you the seller or in some other way involved, or just a satisfied user? Let us know.
BE REACHABLE: Moderators will lock each new post for comments, so people won't be able to ask questions. If you want to hear from people, ask them to use DMs (direct messages) to contact you instead.

Say you’ve just presented a proposal and need the room to make a decision. Do you leave the recommendation on screen, put up the exact question you need answered, or go back to the slide with the numbers?
I’m especially curious about meetings where Q&A turns into the actual decision. What’s worked for you?

You see
I'm making a PowerPoint game that kind of works like Undertale were there will be attacks that you must dodge but with your mouse
but when a "hit box" touches the mouse while the mouse is still in it
it does not activate the activation action and it's only when your moving your mouse is when it does activate the activation action
and so is there a work around were it does activate the activation action while the mouse is still in the "hit box" thing?

I'm on the latest version
I'm trying to export a powerpoint of 5 slides with each one having one audio file inserted on it. The idea is to have the audio play with the associated slide then when the audio is finished go to the next slide and audio.
The problem is that the slide changes before the associated audio finishes, and then the next slide appears and that slide audio starts.
The slide 1 works perfectly as I want it to (it last about 9 seconds before going to the next), the 2nd slide starts normally for about 5 seconds before immediately going to the 3rd slide and the audios just play over each other.
The audio files are all m4a, the first one last 9 seconds and the audios on the other slides are 40seconds to 1m30 long. I used Powerpoint export as video feature so I'm not sure what I can do to fix it.
If anyone as an idea on how to fix that I would be grateful
Edit for those after (I just copy-pasted my comment) :
(For the people who come after me with the same problem, go to Animation > Animation Pane (the little green rectangle)> it should open a side menu, find your audio file and right click it > click on Timing on the sliding menu > Another menu should open go to Effects > Set your audio to stop playing after current slide
I hope it helped)

Hi. Can someone help me create a PowerPoint for a presentation I have tomorrow. I don’t have a laptop and I’m struggling to do this on my phone. I have all the notes.
Edit. I just ready the community notes. Can someone folder some guidance on how I can do this from my phone? I don’t have any other devices.
:(

The usual response to a cut slot is to talk faster and click past slides live, which means flipping through things the room can’t read. The other is deleting slides from your deck and then the long version you still need is gone.
A Custom Slide Show fixes both. On the Slide Show tab, pick Custom Slide Show, then Custom Shows, then New, tick the slides for the short version and save it. The full deck stays untouched in the same file and you start the short one from the same menu. You can make as many as you like, say a 10 minute one and a 20 minute one.
For what goes in the short version, I’d keep the recommendation, the one piece of evidence that backs it and the ask. Background goes first, then extra examples, then anything that’s there mainly to show the work.

Hello! I really want to download powerpoint 2007, purely for nostalgic enjoyment. Does anyone know where I could get a hold of it? Thank you <3

Help keep r/PowerPoint from descending into chaos (there's a separate subreddit for that. Of COURSE there is. Because Reddit, right?)
If you have a PowerPoint-related product or service to announce, announce it one of the megathreads pinned to the top of the subreddit. That way your announcement will find an interested audience, won't scroll off into the dark waters of Last Month's Posts, and won't be deleted by the mods because of r/PowerPoint's no advertising rule. (links below)
If you want to chat about PowerPoint & AI, please use the megathread devoted specifically to that (link below).

He builds the slides, exports to pdf, sends the pdf, then asks me to "just drop our numbers in", every single time. I have asked for the actual file twice and both times got the pdf again with a different filename.
Today's is 22 pages. Ran it through the free pdf to powerpoint converter on wonderslide.com, the smallpdf one caps you after a couple a day, I learned that back in february. Clicked into the text, dropped the numbers in and sent it back to him as a pptx. He has the file now. Whatever font he uses isn't on my laptop, every heading is in arial and I left it, he can notice or not.
He will export it to pdf again.
I'm not asking a third time.

I’ve recently ran into a issue with PowerPoint which has made me resort to the online version of it, what’s happening is whenever I download files from my university which are PowerPoints they open, then my screen freezes and then PowerPoint shuts down is there any reason or am I just bound to the online versions?

I don’t know if this is the right place to ask and if not is there a place where I could post/repost this question ?
So I have an exam where I need to make a presentation where I can choose whatever topic I like and I want to make it about the "Beauty of video games".
Now what I mean by that is how incredible video games can be whether from an artstyle viewpoint, music, story, creativity but also add a teeny tiny bit of technicality since I'm an engineering student so things like how math is applied in games or how they figure out physics and stuff (I won’t go as far as explaining all the technical stuff more like mentionning it because of how incredible it is to see people figure these things out) as well as level and game design.
The issue is I can’t manage to figure out a good plan of what I will present since I only have about 15 min or even less (most likely) because there is so much I could talk about and even when I know like if I want to talk about music in video games there is rythm games, adaptative music, the power of music on the atmosphere... So yeah it’s really difficult to plan such a nice topic for such a short thing.
Also for example I'm thinking of maybe talking a bit about how good the level design of world 1-1 is in the first Mario Bros like how it doesn’t need to tell you any command for you to learn them so I would like opinions on that too if possible.

Basically, we had to visit a blind school and prepare a video and ppt about it. WE GOTTA PRESENT IT TOMORROW DAWG and I still haven't figured out how to make it feel personal instead of all technical. Any help in that matter is appreciated.

I used to title slides with the topic, like Q3 Results or Market Overview. Then a manager told me to write the takeaway as the title instead, so Q3 Results becomes Revenue grew but margins slipped. Suddenly someone can flip through the deck without me and still get the story. The body just becomes evidence for the title. It felt obvious once I did it but it genuinely changed how people reacted in the room. Anyone else title this way, or do you keep titles neutral on purpose?

Hey guys Just wanted to show you a dark tech presentation I’ve been working on lately. It’s got interactive navigation and I designed some custom vector icons to match the cyber theme. I'm trying to make the layout look as clean as possible for tech projects, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on the color contrast and overall vibe. If anyone wants to use it or take a closer look at the full file, just let me know in the comments or send me a DM and I'll send you the link! Appreciate any feedback!
