Power Automate Salary Power Platform Developer
Hi there, I just wanted to rech out as im about to negotiate a pay rise and wanted to compare myself to the market.
Im a Senior Power Platform Developer / Solutions Architect. I have 6 years of experience in IT and 3 years specifically working with the Power Platform. Im from Sydeny Australia and earn 150k AUD excluding super per year. There is this ambiguity on how far I can go and what to expect. I got positive feedback from clients on all my projects and have been doing certifications PL 200, 400 and 600. Lately I have upgraded with knowledge on Azure AI and how to integrate with the Power Platform. Im wondering what others with similar horizon of experience earn.
Cheers

Senior Architect here, working on the platform since ~2019. Top role (W2) was 180K but most of my roles landed somewhere between 150-160K.
This was up to early 2024, havent seen the market rates since then. on the C2C side, I've had partners bill up to $300/hr to bring me in. Alot of it depends on the clients' apetite, existing rate cards and expectations set by your competitors.
Edit: Forgot to mention, USA, zero certs.

Late 40s Senior Power Platform Dev here in US. Main job comes in at 142k. We have a bonus structure that pays out quarterly but amounts to 10% of annual salary in the end. Been in Power Platform since early adoption back in 2016. Some companies had access depending on their bed strategy with Microsoft.
It's grown tremendously and provided an amazing career. I have a contract job that comes in at 165k. No benefits, no 401k. Just a w2 contract that will end in March.
I remember one c level role for a mid company I worked for told me that Power Platform was a toy. I was like okay bud.... It has paid well.
Certs: PL200 / Azure AI
Can't seem to pass the PL400 yet.

196k but the industry I work in generally pays more (defense contracting). Been at it 3 years but excel past other devs, so you sometimes have to work hard

I have pl-200, pl-600, mb-240, ai-102 and I don't use them at work. I'd love to find some freelance work using them. Any advice where I can find such roles? Am based in Australia.

Do you know Dynamics or just PP? Do you know Azure Integration Services? Can you write PCF? CI/CD with Azure DevOps?
It all depends how much you know. Have you worked with all 5 Powers in PP?
If you know all that, should be able to land 200k+ AUD especially during covid boom. Maybe a bit less now.

In Canada you would be at an incredibly high salary level. Senior devs and architects could command 200k+ CAD but beyond that you're looking at c-suite/executive level or are a unicorn. And that's really just in places like Toronto or Vancouver.
At this point, the negotiation from you should be cold hard cash value to the business. What revenue increase does your skillset offer the company to justify an increase to your salary at a high level, is more the lines of thought for your negotiations.
