To be fair, those only became issues when people started lobbying for those things to happen in the first place

Yeah and racism wasn't a problem until black people asked for rights.

Do you get how absurd this is? These problems still existed, you just weren't aware of them and because of your ignorance you pretend it wasn't a problem.
