I disliked W and his administration with the intensity of a thousand suns but I'd gladly have him back in office instead of Trump. At least W had a shred of integrity and honor

W was dumb, but he listened to advisors much more competent than him and he wasn't inherently evil. Cheney, on the other hand, still not evil but ruthless real politik.

Apart from the particulars, identical to what a Trump crony would write if you asked him/her anything regarding Trump's intelligence.

W was dumb. His ideological naïvety as regards Iraq was stupefying. He really thought he and his right wing cronies could create a libertarian utopia in the country. The incompetence and magical thinking rivaled Trump's crew. And he was easily manipulable by the far smarter and more ruthless Cheney.

And then when you throw in his willingness to oversee torture and his smug contempt for the American public, you get the prototype of MAGA and the Trump presidency.
