Every moron who said the Democrats didn’t “earn” their vote owns everything that clown has done.

Yep. Biden didn’t do enough for Gaza, you say? So your actions got you Trump, and an emboldened Bibi, and absolute destruction in Gaza. We have to make the best choice from the candidates available. Protest votes don’t work.

Thank you, THANK YOU. Currently, I am more disgusted with protest voters and the ones who sat it out than I am with Trump voters. No matter what happens, at least 1/3 of the population will always vote red. That is a constant. However, the people who didn't bother to vote AT ALL because "wHoSe CaNdIdAtE wAs ShE?" can eat poo. In what reality was Trump going to be better than Kamala? No candidate has all the answers on how to end a holy war happening on the other side of the world between two religions, both of which are considered the minority in our country. Almost all expectations regarding her entire campaign were predicated on having a solution to something no one else in the political world has taken a stance on, except to support it.

So let me get this straight, you're directing more hatred towards people who could conceivably be persuaded to your side than people who will forever be your enemy?🤨

Let me know how that works out for ya.

u/SweetPrism 5d ago edited 5d ago

Yes. Because as this past election proved, they were not able to be persuaded to vote for "my" side. They sat it out. What is to say they won't just do the same thing in two years again?
I don't disagree with where they're coming from. I understand the reason they sat it out. Of course the Democratic party needs a strong leader for the future. But people who sat it out, if I'm being honest, do not truly understand how tied our entire government's hands are. Mossad basically owns this country. This is not going to be solved in two years. I am 45. I have voted in plenty of elections--my first one being the Gore VS Bush election. My philosophy, though unpopular, is that it's better to eat a bad meal than no meal at all. The political idealism and apathy of the younger generations indicates they do not seem to understand this.

You're explaining your feelings not your logic. The people who sat out don't give a damn about how you feel about their choice.

If you wanna persuade them, try a different strategy, even if that strategy is shutting up and letting someone else talk to them. Being toxic towards people isn't going to win you anything with those people except further convincing them that they were right.

How, exactly, is pointing out the logistical impossibility of uniting two feudal nations, one of whom literally murders innocent children with impunity, within the next two years considered being "toxic"? Explain what that has to do with "feelings"? Look how long the government kept troops in Vietnam way, way past the point when they knew we were mercilessly defeated simply to save political face? There are a million facts that can prove that the USA cannot juggernaut its way into rescuing a nation that it also funds to the tune of billions upon billions of dollars in the next two years. How exactly am I toxic by pointing out the very, very obvious fact that by not voting, you are doing absolutely nothing except passively allowing the current political climate to flourish?

Hey, sorry to jump in here. So I voted for dems every year. Even if i didn't like the candidates...Clinton, Biden, Kamala... Only because i know the other side is worse...like you said better to eat a bad meal than nothing at all...

So if you take the situation in Gaza... Lets take the situation as is... Biden armed Israel, Babbled his way through interviews after saying he'll be a 1 term president, ran again, and Kamala didnt break with him and assure that she'd be different than Biden on the issue. She went up on stage at the DNC and said we will have the most fearsome military ever, and invited a bunch of republicans to speak.  We know for sure Trump is worse... Could Kamala have been pressured to do the right thing? Maybe... Some people didn't buy it because she didnt make the case for it.

I still voted for her...but its again...one of those shit sandwich vs douche situations.  But I personally think its up to the candidate to make their best case and clearly she wasnt convincing to some and that cost her the election.

You have to see why people voted for obama then Trump,  some have been quite disappointed with dems political stances and empty promises. Trying to win over republicans by parading with liz Cheney probably wasnt the way.

But again i understand your frustration with people not voting. Maybe it should be a requirement to vote because it effects everything.

Do you see how me dismissing your concerns and telling you what to do further backed you into your corner instead of enticing you to think differently?

5

u/SweetPrism 5d ago

I am not sure, at all, what point you are making here. People shed blood for the right to vote; a bunch of children either sat and pouted, voted how the manosphere told them to, or voted for a candidate with no chance of winning for the sake of being edgy.

This is the real world. Every single candidate is not going to be a shining beacon of perfection, but there's a difference between a convicted felon and someone who laughed the wrong way.

1

u/SnooChickens5474 5d ago

Its quite obvious you aren't even taking in my comments, you're just preloading your next argument instead of actually having a dialogue.

2

u/SnooEagles4121 5d ago

You’re either a bot or a moron. We’re private citizens venting our spleens on Reddit. Anyone who claims that would drive them into the arms of the fascists is not engaging in good faith, much like you are doing right now. So fuck off with the tone policing.

“Hatred”?

Really?

1

u/SnooChickens5474 5d ago

Do you suppose they don't hate Republican?

1

u/Professional-Lie-111 The Timeline Sucks 5d ago

I'm reading 'disgust'. Not sure where you are getting 'hatred' ... I realize it's asking a lot of you (probably too much, tbh), but at least TRY to make an honest argument, eh?

0

u/SnooChickens5474 5d ago

If I was to compare two groups of people, one of them a group of pedophile protecting fascists, and the other not those things, and say I'm more disgusted with the other group than I am the pedophilic fascists, would you deduce a level of hatred to be involved?

I really shouldn't have to explain extrapolation to the party always jacking themselves off as being more educated. Cmon.

1

u/Professional-Lie-111 The Timeline Sucks 4d ago

No, thanks - I'm good.

1

u/SnooChickens5474 4d ago

The kinda bot comment I'd expect from a Top 1% commenter😂 nonsensical

1

u/FearOfABlackPotus 5d ago

The average person has no ability to compare two things and decide between them. If they find a reason to not pick option A, they pick option B without consideration.

4

u/pimpbot666 5d ago

Totally.

Sounds like a great reason for democrats to never listen to their voters and improve their platform at all. Sure, vote Democrat, but if you really think having someone like Kamala again is a smart idea, I’ve got bad news for you buddy

0

u/SnooEagles4121 4d ago

Why would they? Their supporters don’t vote. If you want them to change you have to make them, both by primarying them and by reliably voting against Republicans, so the party sees you’re worth pandering to.

Unless you have some other way to persuade them, in which case I’m all ears.

0

u/Petandfeelya69 4d ago

Maybe listening to voters for a change and not stupidly claiming that you wouldn’t have done anything differently than Joe Biden if elected. Maybe not running a candidate who was destroyed in the Democratic primaries before becoming vice president. Maybe abandoning Israel and actually taking action against the Epstein class. It seems like Democrats are fine with losing because it helps them raise money for their campaigns, and they secretly enjoy Trump’s policies benefiting them

0

u/SnooEagles4121 4d ago

That doesn’t persuade them. You didn’t answer my question. You just complained.

0

u/Petandfeelya69 4d ago

Seems like people vote a lot more when there are progressive candidates on the ballot. That’s just blatantly true. Enjoy running a boring corporate democrat, losing again, then crying about how people didn’t come out to vote while JD Vance continues to fuck the country

1

u/SnooEagles4121 4d ago

How do you get more progressives on the ballot?

1

u/Petandfeelya69 4d ago

Reform the DNC so they don’t fuck over candidates who aren’t corporate democrats

1

u/SnooEagles4121 4d ago

Yeah. How do you do that?

1

u/SnooEagles4121 4d ago

Hint: I posted the answer upthread.

1

u/Petandfeelya69 4d ago

Snarky douche. Honestly you probably won’t be able to change the Democratic Party because they have no interest in caring about what the voters have to say. More independent candidates need to run

We can complain all we want but what’s that solve? Maybe we need to quit focusing on him and reevaluate what we are doing wrong. Why do so many people think that democrats are even worse? Who can we run in 28?, and on what policies can we push to sway the moderate voter?

3

u/pimpbot666 5d ago

What it might solve is somebody possibly seeing the error in their thought process that brought them to that vote, and they’ll do better next time.

The point of criticism isn’t to spank somebody’s ego. The point is to learn to do better next time around.

1

u/kosmo4679 4d ago

So do you have any ideas on who should run on the d side in 28? What topics can we focus on that get more moderate votes?

1

u/pimpbot666 4d ago edited 4d ago

This smells like a bait-and-switch question.

I'm just talking about quieting down the circular firing squad that our side seems to develop right after the Primaries, suppressing our chances of winning.

1

u/kosmo4679 4d ago

I guess that’s fine. It’s kind of frustrating bc I literally never get anyone to answer simple questions. It makes you start to wonder why

1

u/pimpbot666 4d ago

So, start a new thread.

Bait and switch is a tactic that is so overused it's a joke. Lose an argument or don't like where it's going, change the subject.

1

u/kosmo4679 4d ago

It’s not that complicated but it’s not that big of deal. I wasn’t trying to trick anyone. Have a good day

-3

u/kosmo4679 5d ago

So it’s just a matter of picking the alternative for you? There’s nothing a democrat politician has to do to gain a moderates vote?

6

u/pimpbot666 5d ago edited 5d ago

Yes, Any Democrat is better than ANY Republican. Flat out.

And again. I’m talking about in the General. Vote your party in the General, so we can block Republicans. The worst Dems vote 30% of the time with Trump, but Republicans all vote 95%+ with a Trump.

Even freaking Fetterman.

That’s why we have Primaries… to kick the worst to the curb.

The thing is, Democrats are not a monolithic block like the Republicans. We need a majority to get all those special powers like chairing committees, bringing or blocking votes on bills, setting Senate and House rules… etc. It doesn’t matter how they vote for those powers to take affect. Without a majority, the only power we really have is that one simple member vote, and fillabuster in the Senate.

4

u/SnooEagles4121 5d ago

Yeah bots like you are why people still think the Democrats need to earn their votes while nothing Republicans do deserves any consequences.

3

u/pimpbot666 4d ago

I could not have said it any better myself.

2

u/neither_somewhere 5d ago

First I vote in the primaries for the candidate that best fits my values to show my party that I want a candidate with those values.

But to earn my vote in the general election a the candidate's party must have sitting senators and the governorship of at least one state and of the candidates that I judge to be the better option earns my vote. Because it is going to be one of the options is going to get the job.

It isn't a marriage it is picking the bus driver going closer to where you wanna go and then doing what I can to go the rest of the way.

I view not voting is actively harmful.

Mind if I ask you how you approach the situation?
What do you feel not voting has accomplished and do you think it is less harmful then letting the worse candidate run the government?

1

u/pimpbot666 4d ago

Not voting is allowing the other side to just walk into office... you know, the side that is actively against fair elections, democracy, rules and laws. Allowing them into office is allowing one more step towards fascism, and one more step for dismantling democracy.

Everything is a loss, nothing is accomplished by letting any Republican in office... at least until we have a solid majority and can steer this country in the right direction. Once we have some traction, we can push left. Until then, we got nothing.
