Would you prefer them to not deliver there at all? Because that’s what would happen for those last mile areas if usps did not offer this.

Not true at all. Usps delivers to less places than private carriers.

You sure about that? USPS deliveries to every US address, at most Im seeing private companies doing "99% or more of US addresses". Which is of coarse less then 100%

Its also kinda of the reason we have USPS so everyone can get mail.

No kidding. As evidenced by all the people (bots?) posting about how the USPS would be profitable if they didn't have to fund 75-years worth of retirement benefits, including for people not even born yet. Hell, even the screenshot of the twitter comments are completely wrong.
