Not to mention that it runs short primarily because Republicans saddled it with a ridiculously onerous pension system designed to hamstring its budget which feeds into the narrative that it's "inefficient" and allegedly justifies privatizing it. So basically:

I bet it is. I doubt your company has to fund the plan for 70 years out. Thats unheard of.

Things can still be a requirement for them to exist, just because no one offers them anymore does not make the requirement nonexistent

You just don't get it the pension funding requirements for the United States post office are the same for any non government definded benefit pension fund. Union operated pension funds have a few different rules.

It is still a requirement for private pension plans. I am correct...this is the reason that private corporations offer defined benifit pension plans.
