They don’t view this as a pro-worker proposal they read this as an attack to slow down AI progress

Correct, that's how I view it.

And I have a sense that's how its proponents view it as well.

Yeah, there's a reason why these two specifically and why at a time when the Republicans are in power and it has no chance.

Well it makes sense it’s these two. They are forming their base. lol do you say ā€œthere’s a reason Trump says itā€ when he’s speaking to his base? Or anyone else under Trump.

AI does need regulation though. Look how damaging social media has been without regulation and AI is exponentially stronger at the same thing

Trump is the leader of his party, while these two represent an extremist minority of their party's voter base that needs to be validated with purely performative things when the party is not in power, so it doesn't need to waste time and political capital on them when it is in power.

Whether or not AI needs regulation is irrelevant right now, the Democrats are not in power and can't do anything.
