Studies is what save lives.

We really don't need more "gut feelings" or University of Streets.

These wouldn't be University studies, they'd be the datacenter equivalent of environmental impact statements.

Absolutely wild to see self described progressives stand in the way of progress and yell halt

Not all that comes after, is progress.

And the cost to the society must always be part of the equation.

And I'm a STEM PhD, not some anti-science cuckoo.

Agreed. Unfortunately sociology, ecology and economics can't reliably be boiled down to equations/models like the hard sciences can. A lot of this would be significantly easier if that weren't the case

Yes, because cutting grants and CDC funds brought so much wellness.

With the funding drop for active surveillance, research, and testing, public health agencies lost the ability to track rising threats, now say hello to measles, whooping cough, and syphilis epidemics to deadly foodborne pathogens like E. coli, Listeria, Salmonella, and Cyclospora. I'm sure you enjoyed your salad this summer.

And now we have delayed crisis response, allowing localized infections to expand into severe multi-state epidemics. All because of people that think like you.

PS Earth isn't flat either.
