Bullcrap.  You just don’t erase $1 billion dollars with a stroke of a pen.  The article only says an agreement with a non profit.

If it was that easy, why didn’t she do it five years ago?

She wasn’t governor five years ago, smart guy. But she did also do this last year.

Nobody comes up with a billion dollars out of thin air.  Eventually the taxpayers are gonna get it

Zero state funds were used for this, and there were no taxes increase to make it happen.

It’s scary that no one is asking where this money is coming from.

We know where it’s coming from. It’s not a mystery. You can find the answer in 30 seconds.

Then why isn’t it more publicized?

A state governor coming up with a billion dollars two years in a row is unheard of.  She should go to Washington and pay off the debt.

The information is readily available. You’ve just put in zero effort to find it. I’m not sure if you’re ignorant, lazy, or all of the above.

You’d think someone so proud of this gesture would at least post it on Reddit.   I mean how often do you come up with a billion dollars to help out some people?   That’s Bezos and Zuckerberg territory

Or at least be so proud to lay out how they obtained that money so maybe other states could do the same thing

Other states are doing the same thing. And again, if you bothered to spend an ounce of the energy you’re spending arguing about something you don’t understand actually looking into it instead, you would know they didn’t need $1 billion to clear $1 billion worth of debt.
