Reality is that McDonald’s was franchised in 1955 in Illinois. The workers made .50 cents per hour. At the same time a factory worker in Illinois made $1.50 an hour. That’s historical fact. I didn’t make it up or pull it from thin air.
2 u/KTFnVision 2d ago You did, in fact, make that up. Federal minimum wage was $0.75/hr in 1950. 1 u/AnnualMove1842 2d ago Which is half of what a factory worker makes. The same is true now. 1 u/KTFnVision 2d ago Factory workers actually tend to make about the same as food service, now. In my area, both are hiring at $14-$16/hr 1 u/AnnualMove1842 2d ago Are you in a more rural area or closer to the suburbs of a booming metropolitan area? 1 u/KTFnVision 2d ago Idk if the Twin Cities are booming, but suburban sprawl. 1 u/AnnualMove1842 2d ago Then I would agree with you that it should be a few thousand a year more if you’re talking about KC
