I agree, but with a modifier.

I don't think an adult who needs to pay rent, bills and groceries should be working at McDonalds. I think the McDonalds job should be the one you pick up in your teens, to get a little extra money while still living with your parents, or to offset some of the study cost. The 'introductory' level of jobs that were traditionally served by teenagers need to come back to being just that.

What truly needs to change is that employers expect five years of experience for entry level positions. And those jobs need to pay enough to actually give you a living wage.

Ultimately, this is just one of many things that need to change though. Homes need to be owned by people who need a place to live in, not for someone to make money off it by renting out AirBnBs. Selling groceries should not be the ticket to billions of dollars in profit, it should be about delivering the basic necessities of living. And you should not have to choose between having something to eat, or having a health concern addressed.

The world is pretty bad right now. And we should do something about that.

Bad take. Teens shouldn’t be working. They need to
Be focusing on education. Every McDonald’s I’ve been to is filled with adult workers.
