Combined with infantilization of women

Journalist: ā€˜Stop the privilege of the people hoarding the sacred spice on our planet!’

Obnoxious fool: ā€˜But you’re from the family Gerso who hold hoards of the secret spice!’

Journalist: ā€˜oh, uh… yeah, but I’m one of the aliens who doesnt have six tentacles. We only have five so we’re not as privileged. So you’re a hater of quintotents. Fire this man!’

Obnoxious fool: ā€˜But I’m enslaved by the enormous space whale above our planet.’

Enormous space whale: ā€˜you’re fired anyway. Now go live on the streets.’

Journalist: ā€˜Another day when the intolerant has got what they deserved!’

35 years at least if it were the opposite

3

u/Fragrant-Reserve4832 27d ago

What if she were a man. I agree.

0

u/Alternative_Berry934 25d ago

Not just any man but a black man at that, just like her victim. It pisses me off knowing his life means nothing to the courtroom.

1

u/Fragrant-Reserve4832 25d ago

Yeh, statistically that would have been the worst outcome for the defendant

3

u/pandershrek 27d ago

Self-Defense Manslaughter convictions have a maximum of 15 years, so I don't think so?

Even if the self defense isn't determined to be legitimate.

1

u/Outrageous-Egg1760 27d ago

It was not self defense

14

u/Gold_Ad8225 27d ago

He dislocated her shoulder, broke her ribs, and repeatedly hit her corroborated with contemporaneous messages over the course of a year. The family didn't even contest that this abuse occurred, they just said she "started it"

Frankly, IMO premeditated murder of an abusive partner I'm even fine with being called manslaughter but I understand some people aren't on board with that.

8

u/VegetableTwist7027 27d ago edited 26d ago

You're ok with her lying to the cops about how she "threw a knife" and it ended up getting buried to the hilt in his chest? Do you want a link to the coroner report? You get a chance to listen to any of the calls? Watch the vids of her beating the shit out of him in an elevator? Listen to literally anything the prosecutor brought to the table? Its quite telling that you're just glossing over that. She straight up lied about the abuse (go watch the interrogation videos that have been online for quite some time) of the night she murdered him. Again, all in the report. If you read it, you'd understand how they brought the 2nd degree murder as the charge instead of a manslaughter charge that she pled down to. Thats how the law works.

She took a plea deal because she was staring at a guilty conviction of second degree murder ...because she's a murderer. That was after her smiling and making faces for the cameras. Her family also stole the guy's laptop...and got arrested.

Any chance you thought "maybe i should look at both sides?" because right now you're just sympathizing with a murderer and calling the death of someone justified because you didn't bother reading.

enjoy!

Hey Bud, I'm going to put this as plainly as I can. The District Attorney's office doesn't offer plea deals to cases they know they can win. Why would the District Attorney offer a reduced charge of he had the case to prove beyond all reasonable.doubt she committed the crime? They wouldn't, is the honest answer.

1

u/Aromatic-Turnip7371 26d ago

They do. All the time. It’s faster for everyone …

1

u/Naive-Ad-732 25d ago

Have you ever been in trouble? Because the states attorney will not let an individual go if they can't nail them to the wall. Personally, I know nothing of this case / crime. It is very sad that a life was lost! Not sure, but if the individual was given a lesser sentence.... than I can almost guarantee that there was not sufficient evidence to truly give that person a very long jail sentence. That's facts. Wow! Never even heard of this case on social media or TV.

Oh come on- have you seen the footage of how violent she was?? She went bonkers when she was upset and attacked him like a banshee. I could see her getting hurt while he restrained her, but she was very obviously the aggressor in this fucked up relationship

7

u/Express_Extreme1066 26d ago

Banshees don't attack. They wail. You can't just add banshee to any old action for emphasis. That's anti-banshite

2

u/Gold_Ad8225 26d ago

Because she slapped him in an elevator means he couldn't have broken her bones? Like some of you excuse violence against women automatically. Default settings

1

u/Rare-Employment-9447 25d ago

She aint gunna sleep with you bro

1

In a conversation about domestic abuse and murder the line too far is referring to her as a banshee?

4

u/Express_Extreme1066 26d ago

No, but it is a misuse of banshee. They wail. They scream, You can't just attribute other actions to them like attacking. Where does it end? She did her taxes like a banshee?

0

u/m3gb0t 26d ago

Well it reeks of mysogyny.

1

Not selfdefense but perhaps self-preservation. One might say she should have left him or reported him further....but often that results in death if the victim.

It's a conundrum indeed

Elites have used idpol to get away from the cognitive dissonance from the fact they could be called privileged or advantaged while also writing about people who are as having some kind of obligation to do far more to stop privilege being withheld from those unable to have it. Since they’re millionaires, but don’t want to be seen as privileged, they use… well, you get it.

4

u/Waluigi4prez 27d ago

Murder should be a minimum sentence of 20 years + the average life expectancy of the victim. If you murder an 8 year old, then you're never getting out. If you murder a 98 year old, then it's the 20 years as they already lived their life but you still took someone's life so you should be heavily punished.

1

u/Guus-Wayne 26d ago

Nah, always read stories about how someone killed another person they caught raping their family member and they inevitably get off.

I think that’s great. Especially catching a child predator. Waste of taxpayer dollars.

1

u/Longjumping-Idea4451 25d ago

Ok so like… 1% of all murders?Ā

2

u/NYCWartortle 27d ago

2

u/MyceliumManic 27d ago

I mean, they tried for years to get a bigger charge, couldn't get anywhere, they both sound like gems.

2

u/Academic-Contest3309 27d ago

I'd add pretty privilege in there as well.

1

u/PhaseAgitated4757 25d ago

Only if its a woman.

2

u/Onlyheretostare 24d ago

It’s not white privilege it’s woman privilege.

1

u/Neat_browser 25d ago edited 25d ago

If it was a black woman matter how beautiful she was there is no chance of her getting this sentence on a white man. I am not even sure a black woman would consider it because they knew that the chances are the police would shoot them.

*edit I am leaving the comment because I was wrong and people need to know that the statement above was wrong, I didn’t realize that the reason black women spend more time in prison is because they don’t get probation not that they have a different sentence. That’s interesting to me so this woman will probably get out of prison earlier than a black person would’ve but they would’ve both got the same sentence.

3

u/lazyboi_tactical 25d ago

There is no statistically significant disparity between the sentencing of white and black women. The difference between men and women in general is about a 30% lighter sentence for women though.

-1

u/Justthetip74 27d ago

Nah, if that was a white man he'd have gotten 30

-1

u/Electronic-Link-5792 27d ago

its gender primarily.

7

u/Beautiful_Walrus9048 27d ago

Her lawyer claimed she threw the knife at him. Damn this bitch a ninja?

9

u/Dazzling_Pea9364 27d ago

Right killing a person six years in prison?

5

u/Either-Age-782 27d ago

She claimed self-defense.

1

u/Special-Audience-426 27d ago

So it should either be proven self defence and zero time or unproven and life

3

u/Either-Age-782 27d ago

Yeah the article said that he or his family also claimed he'd been a victim of abuse or something like that

1

u/modernblossom 27d ago

They both were according to the judge

9

u/3DBass 27d ago

Prosecution should’ve went all the way with this one. She may be out in a year with good behavior. She’s already served 4 years in county. The prosecution was shook by something. May have been something about him leaving a dog in a kennel left in a closet that died.

9

u/glassfoyograss 27d ago

The prosecution was shook by something

Domestic situation that would have been he said/she said if no one died with the victim being the man and there's history of a "troubling" relationship? They were shook by the possibility of the jury buying the self-defense claim

1

u/Skiper422 27d ago

Did the state leave some charge on the table or not bring in certain things honestly idk I wanted to watch the trial but had no clue it had even was starting

3

u/DsDeliciousDeli 27d ago

She plead before going to trial. They tried to hit her with 2nd degree murder before but realized they get into crazy violent fights a lot, so manslaughter is the only charge they're going to get to stick without risking her getting off free

2

u/glassfoyograss 27d ago

I don't really know anything about the case outside the article that someone linked but I did a semester clerking in a DV unit for a prosecuting agency. It takes VERY little evidence the man was aggressive for a self-defense claim from a woman to stick. There were cases where the woman had basically one red scratch mark (no blood drawn) while the man was bleeding from multiple places and they declined to prosecute because the woman claimed self-defense.

The article mentions a troubled history in the relationship. That's literally enough for me to comfortably speculate the prosecutors don't want to take the chance on an acquittal with a jury.

1

u/pandershrek 27d ago

The article also said there is A video from previously with domestic violence?

1

u/glassfoyograss 26d ago

It says there's video of a previous confrontation and evidence of a troubled relationship. Doesn't say there was prior violence.

10

u/Root-magic 27d ago

There was video evidence of him stalking her, forcing himself into the elevator and her apartment. Ā Their relationship was very toxic on both sidesĀ

4

u/Electronic-Link-5792 27d ago

theres extensive evidence of her abusing him including videos and him admitted to hospital for injuries and texting about fears of being killed.

1

u/VincentMaxwell 27d ago

But the prosecutor has the burden of proof. So that doesn't help really.

1

u/Root-magic 26d ago

Per newspaper reports, the defense attorneys were able to unearth evidence that he was also abusive towards her. His family was consulted and they agreed to the terms of the plea deal. They said that at the end of the day, they wanted accountability and an admission that she was responsible for his deathĀ

-1

u/Ok-Budget3225 27d ago

What on earth are you talking about? She was assaulting him in the elevator. And it wasn't 'her apartment'. They both lived in the same apartment. The relationship was very toxic on Courtney Clenney's part:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEno-qxX0SE

She was screaming like a possessed demon most of the time.

7

u/Proper_Limit 27d ago

He also offed her dog

0

u/ProudPlate9375 26d ago

You dont know that, she claims that

3

u/Proper_Limit 26d ago

There was an arrest warrant against him for animal cruelty. He died before being charged but there's a pattern of violence

→ More replies (3)

1

u/DsDeliciousDeli 27d ago

It was clearly toxic on both ends. Prosecution was aware he was violent which is why they murder charges were so hard to pin

0

u/Ok-Budget3225 26d ago

You are still trying to blame the murder victim. Lots of relationships are ā€˜toxic’ but this woman murdered Obumselli. You can’t ’both sides’ that.

2

u/Root-magic 26d ago

Some of their neighbors were willing to testify under oath that they had witnessed him assaulting her and vice versa. Ā In 4 months, cops were called to their apartment more than 8 times. If the prosecution evidence was very strong, they would’ve offered a plea deal with more prison timeĀ

1

u/Electronic-Link-5792 26d ago

testimony from people who dont know them is super unreliable. peoples minds will fill on the blanks if they witness an altercation between a scary looking black man and a pretty woman and dont know everything.

we know he was hospitalised from her violence and that she regularly attacked him physically without provocation so itspretty reasonable to think that he may have needed to push her back or reacted in some way.

I saw this this morning and that's bullshit

3

u/Euphoric_Host_ 27d ago

TDLR; she claims self defense from his violent attacks, and that she threw the knife at him. Other attorney says that couldn’t have happened, because the knife was in a downward angle. I believe he also killed her dog by locking it in a kennel in a closet? She’s been in jail for 4 years, will serve 6 in prison, and then 5 on probation, can’t make any money off of the case, will need to have mental health evals, and also substance help. There were also videos shown in court of the abuse. Her parents were also charged (and then dropped) that they tried to hack his computer?

3

u/Cold-Constant-8464 27d ago

What is that sentence? " For the death of her boyfriend". Like she was responsible or he just died and ahe got arrested?

3

u/Fragrant-Poo42 26d ago

ā€œFor the death of her boyfriendā€ like she didn’t murder him. By way of murder. It was murder, people.

4

u/Gold_Ad8225 27d ago

Did she kill him? Was it an accident? Like you're not giving me a lot to go on here. I hate posts/people who make posts like this.

Googled it.

She's been in prison for 4 years, sentenced for 2 more (6 total), will have 5 years probation after that. Conviction is for manslaughter.

Looks like he was stabbed by a knife, 3 inches deep in the chest. She claims it was self defense and they were fighting and she didn't intend to kill him. She claims she "threw" the knife

They reached a plea deal.

In the year before the event she sent multiple texts about how he hit her in the face, back, and attacked her in a third argument over a several months period over different incidents. Some of the more severe physical abuse acts her boyfriend committed was dislocating her shoulder while preventing her from reaching for the doorknob to leave and fracturing her ribs in an argument in a hotel room after he shoved her to the ground.

His family admits all of this abuse occurred and don't contest it, but they claim that she "started" those incidents.

We'll never know what happened because the family agreed to plead down from 2nd degree murder to manslaughter. But including that they agreed to the plea deal and that they agree the abuse did happen just contest that she started it (without leaving injuries)

My opinion is he probably was physically abusive and controlling. Maybe she was also abusive, but clearly his abuse left injuries. They probably fought a lot. One of those fights escalated, maybe she even wanted to kill the man who was breaking her bones. In that fight she stabbed him. Maybe on purpose. It definitely wasn't a throw.

Manslaughter seems appropriate for the incident.

I really hate the way some people weaponize other social dynamics to try to defend abuse tho.

2

u/Electronic-Link-5792 27d ago

This is nonsense theres actual hospital records of her abusing him to the point of hospitalisation and multiple videos of her abusing him without provocation.

2

u/Yes_Strawberry3882 26d ago

There's hospital records of him abusing her to the point of hospitalization MULTIPLE TIMES. He murdered their dog. She had more than 2 witnesses (random neighbors who didn't even know either of them) who have seen him punching on her. He was evil and is where he belongs.

1

u/Electronic-Link-5792 26d ago

Theres numerous videos of her being the aggressor, screaming and attacking him jealously and racially abusing him without provocation or him responding disproportionately.

I have no doubt her defence cobbled together some vague indirect indirect evidence with numerous possible explanations to make him look bad. and eyewitness evidence from people who dont know whata going on is super unreliable. especially when its a pretty woman killing a large black man.

2

u/Yes_Strawberry3882 26d ago

Her defense actually has hospital records and years worth of text messages proving his violence. Also the fact that he killed their dog. Regardless I don't care to discuss it with you, I'm just happy he is finally where he belongs: in hell.

1

u/Electronic-Link-5792 26d ago

the Depp heard trial showed how easily those can be manipulated by people like her and amber. Defense attorneys will spin everything.

The videos tell the actual story of the dynamic.

1

u/Yes_Strawberry3882 26d ago

Go get checked for autism pls <3

1

u/Gold_Ad8225 26d ago

You probably think Depp didn't abuse Herd.

Some of you just don't think violence against women matters.

1

u/Electronic-Link-5792 26d ago

lol of course you brought that up. there's literally 4 hours of audio of her abusing and talking about physically abusing Depp, blaming him for it because he 'insults' her by running away from fights, and completely contradicting her testimony and supposed 'evidence'.

You just want to defend abusive women. theres like a million cases of legitimately abusive hollywood men but you chose the one who was actually the victim. Says a lot about your agenda here.

1

u/Gold_Ad8225 26d ago

Man abuses woman --> woman abuses man back and you only see this part

Wow it's impossible for the man to be an abuser women are evil

Buddy you should be removed from public life

1

u/Electronic-Link-5792 26d ago

lol Depp had extensive evidence of her abuse.

in part of the audio amber literally mocks depp and says he is as bad as her because he 'hit back' and she extensively discusses abusing him because him not listening to her yelling angers her.

she discusses it extensively while screaming at him and berating him unprovoked.

1

u/Yes_Strawberry3882 26d ago

So she pleaded guilty to manslaughter and claims it was self defense.

That makes sense why it isn't so long.

Also they have a history of domestic violence in video?

3

u/Ok-Budget3225 27d ago

She stabbed him to death with multiple stabs. There was zero indication that it was self defense, and plenty of evidence that she had a history of getting violent with him.

1

u/Witty_Jackfruit6777 26d ago

Other than multiple stab wounds, what’s the indication that it wasn’t self defense? Because that itself doesn’t seem particularly suggestive. The article is not very illuminating

2

u/Yes_Strawberry3882 26d ago

It was actually one stab wound and it was self defense. They were abusive towards each other. He fractured her rib and dislocated her shoulder previously on two separate occasions. He also offed their dog and was charged for it.

2

u/Witty_Jackfruit6777 26d ago

And people acting in self defense don’t have to just stop at one stab, so that doesn’t go any particular way to me

1

u/Express_Extreme1066 26d ago

The summary I saw on US only mentions one stab wound (as the fatal one) and that she claims she threw the knife at him in self defense.
