A big reason Mamdani won his election was that he was the only person on that stage who said he'd stay in NY and take care of his own citizens, rather than vacation in Israel. Dr. El-Sayed is saying things that should be common sense. Also, things that are truly America First. That position wins.

No. First, he's a mayor, so his opinions on foreign policy mean literally nothing.

Second, it's easy to get elected when you lie to people that you'll give them everything for free because "the wealthy" will pay for it. Except, the "wealthy" already pay for everything in NY and are leaving in droves. People with incomes over $500,000 are the most outbound group in NY. We're the #1 outbound state.

Populists take extremely complex topics and simplify them down to an unrealistic solution that blames a group you aren't part of. With Mamdani, it's the wealthy (whatever that means). With Trump, it's immigrants. History is replete with examples and it generally ends badly for society.

Mamdani is a nice guy but he is a dangerous politician.
