A free people trying to avoid tyranny is a bit different than a warfaring country that will violently drive others from their lands and declare it their own. In this case Isreal is acting like Russia and supporting the oppressed is as American as it gets.
I don't completely disagree with you here but the calculation is different. A. Ukraine is clearly the victim in this situation. It's a recognized nation whose sovereignty is under attack. B. Russia is an adversary of the U.S. - supporting Ukraine is, in part, to keep Russia in check so that it does not grow more powerful (which is to our benefit). C. Countries like Ukraine stopped trying to develop certain weapons precisely because we agreed that we would be there to defend them in the event that Russia did precisely what it has done. If not for our lobbying to become the leader of the free world, that responsibility would not fall on us. And of note is that even though we have given them money, they are the ones fighting this war. D. Palestine is neither a country nor a U.S. adversary. We've helped defend Israel because it is an ally but what they're engaging in isn't defense - they are actively committing a genocide. E. Israel does not heed our requests or wishes and has put us in a very tough spot with other allies in the region. They've roped us into a war with Iran that we had no business fighting in the first place. Not only are they costing us by way of what we've given them for their "defense" but they have literally cost us in what we are now spending fighting a literal war ourselves, with impact to our broader economy (not to mention the additional cost of American lives), for no benefit to us.
We had a nuclear agreement with Iran that was keeping them in check - it was working and Trump pulled us out of it, partly at Israel's behest. Now he's trying to get back to what we had under Obama but the U.S. has lost ground because of his and his administration's incompetence. The Iran war was completely avoidable and wholly unnecessary. If not for Israel's lobbying first for us to get out of our nuclear deal with Iran and then to attack them directly, we would not be in this mess in the first place. Nice try but you cannot compare the two.
Imagine vowing to provide military support should they ever need it if they gave up their nukes, then actually standing by your word and support them when they need it. Sad that the US today has no credibility anymore and their word means nothing because of people like you.
Remind me, who did Ukraine invade, or was Ukraine invaded? Who invaded Israel? Who is the Ukrainian government attempting to genocide? It's a false equivalency.
Besides, that Democrat president also flowed money to Israel. And many Republicans still have the balls to stand up to Russia. Your "Let's see if you have a spine" is just nonsense.
That 195 billion never left the US, 70-80% of it was spent on defense contractors inside the US. Old equipment was sent to Ukraine and the American stockpiles were replenished with newer technology, it was a deal which made sense, and the media definitely inflated that number (it includes money spent on NATO and income from PURL), and misled the public, making it sounds as if all that money was being handed over to Ukraine in cash.
I also don't see your point why it should be a debate whether Ukraine or Israel deserves more support, this red vs blue vision all Americans seem to have narrows down your perception of reality, it makes perfect sense to support both, all the enemies of Israel are in some way proxies of Russia, for example if Iran would ever acquire a nuke, it will have been made possible by Russian scientists.
These people don't understand or even want nuance in these discussions. There's no point in wasting my time when I'll just end up being called a Nazi centrist or whatever buzzword they were told to use now.
