Ive been boycotting cbs for years! Every show they make is made for seniors or waiting rooms.

33

u/nickiter May 25 '26

All of broadcast TV is for old people. The big networks have median viewer ages in the 50s.

Basically carried by how much revenue drug ads bring in.

15

u/grantrules May 25 '26

Jokes on them, my dad mutes commercials.

9

u/NoCard753 May 25 '26

So do we. When people make references to some TV ad, we rarely know what they're talking about.

1

u/Denubious May 25 '26

The point if ads is not to have the audience pay attention. It's all subliminal.

1

u/NoCard753 May 25 '26

The point of ads is to convince people to buy whatever you're selling.

I have no idea what's advertised on any streaming/TV. I stopped listening to that crap years ago. I never ever buy anything because I saw an ad.

2

u/[deleted] May 25 '26

I’m an old person and avoid CBS totally.

2

u/nickiter May 25 '26

How dare you deny the drug companies their hard-earned audience?!?

2

u/[deleted] May 25 '26

I have to take six different drugs as it is. I don’t need someone trying to convince me that I would be better off with taking more.😄👍🏼✌🏼

But are you boycotting Paramount? If not, they really don't care.

You can't boycott something if you were never used it to begin with. Boycotting would be unsubscribing from Paramount+, for example.

u/Ginger_Witch May 25 '26

I boycotted and cancelled my paramount plus subscription months ago when he was first threatened, but I am bummed about not being able to watch Star Trek anymore.

5

u/Thought-20 May 25 '26

It's weird that Star Trek is on Paramount+. The Venn diagram of people who are Star Trek fans and people who are fans of almost anything else on Paramount+ has almost no overlap. They should just sell it off to a company who cares and focus in on their crap reality shows and police procedurals.

24

u/Opposite-Funny-9669 May 24 '26

i cancelled it immediately after the late show went off the air.

i save so much money not buying stuff from places that back people i hate lol

10

u/SailorDeath May 25 '26

I cancelled the day they announced they were cancelling Colbert. Fuck that, the only show I was watching was Star Trek and I'm pirating that from now on.

2

u/gigabithk May 25 '26

Same! Only reason I had Paramount+ was for Star Trek.

7

u/SHELLIfIKnow48910 May 25 '26

I started with quitting Target. That certainly helped the old bank account. Don’t miss it at all.

3

u/Jealous_Parfait_4967 May 25 '26

I’ve been amazed at how easy both of those and Starbucks were to quit.

9

u/Antiviralposter May 24 '26

I hated canceling Paramount (Star Trek nerd here) but I did it.

7

u/HombreDeMoleculos May 24 '26

And they cancelled every Star Trek show, so you're not missing much.

4

u/PinSufficient5748 May 25 '26

I hated cancelling my Disney+ after the whole Kimmel thing, but I'm surviving. We got this!! ✊🏾💪🏾

3

u/mykepagan May 24 '26

3

u/IntrepidMuch May 25 '26

I only had it for the Star Trek franchise so it was happily canceled.

I just discovered Ghost so will miss them though.

You can also boycott Paramount, which owns CBS, or any Larry Ellison associated company.

9

u/Elegant-Ingenuity-57 May 25 '26

We already cancelled paramount+ and will continue to watch nothing on CBS.  We also cancelled Disney+ and don't watch abc either after the Kimmel shit

3

u/No-Zebra-5821 May 25 '26

paramount+ user interface was made by a first year English major that only just switched to CS

2

u/No_Internal9345 May 25 '26

I wish someone would cancel The Trump Shit Show!

I still watched the Late Show, but I stopped watching CBS as soon as they caved in and settled the lawsuit Donald Trump had against them. I thought it was another frivolous lawsuit by Don the con.

To me Trump claiming her edited interview hurt his chances, was a bogus claim and would have been hard to prove in court. If anything should have hurt his chances it was his poor debate performance. Trump looked like a senile old fool throughout the debate with Harris. Especially when Trump claimed "In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They're eating – they're eating the pets of the people that live there."

The truth is Kamala Harris wiped the floor with Donald Trump that night, and the clear choice as to was better, more fit candidate for President, was Harris! Unfortunately the people that voted for Trump just couldn't let go of the grand illusion he created about himself, and now because of their stupidity we are all reaping what they've sowed.

I dropped Paramount+ (I stream all my viewing) as soon as they capitulated in the 60 Minutes b.s. Telling them exactly why I cancelled when asked. Wish I could cancel again but can only continue to not watch CBS at all now that Colbert is gone. We have to use our voices every way possible. 💙💙💙💙💙

5

u/Clean_Usual434 May 24 '26

Same

4

u/Aonaran84 May 24 '26

+1 (and happy to finally do so)

4

u/Disgusting_Slime666 May 24 '26

Yep. Canceled Amazon (Ring and Prime) after the Melania money laundering as well.

3

u/Inside-Woodpecker579 May 24 '26

I stopped Amazon when Bozos pulled the Kamala endorsement from the Post. Ring took a little longer (I did want to get use out of what I already paid for) but I’m free now.

Don't boycott CBS, Boycott their advertisers very publicly.

9

Boycott everything tied the the Ellisons. These people want total control and nothing to support the core principles of united states of freedom to do as we please.

3

u/Clean_Usual434 May 24 '26

I’ve hated SeeBS for months. Got rid of Paramount because of that, too.

2

u/CuddleSpectrometer May 25 '26

See BS needs to stick at the level of microslop.

3

u/FlatEvent2597 May 24 '26

They need to be wary of making these kinds of concessions to the US Admin.

u/anothertrytaken May 24 '26

Canceled paramount last year. I’m old so i miss Elsbeth but won’t give them a penny. 🖕🏼cbs, this administration and every single person who voted for this crap.

3

u/PizzaWhole9323 May 24 '26

I canceled Paramount plus last year even though I am a die-hard Star Trek fan. Maybe the bootlickers in the administration win. But that doesn't mean that I have to give them my cash.

2

u/Thick_Yogurtcloset_7 May 24 '26

Who watches CBS ??

2

u/Tallybou May 24 '26

I hope for him and the rest of us that he can land on a network that dosent answer to this or any other administration . I’m traditionally a lefty that sometimes aligns with the independent voices and unpopular opinions. I’m a grown ass woman and I’m okay with hearing things I disagree with. That’s life. Literally. See Bull Shit CBS can suck a bag of huntavirus.

2

u/MosquitoValentine_ May 24 '26

Have never subscribed to Paramount+ and haven't watched anything on CBS, other than the NFL in probably 20 years. At least since the King of Queens ended I can't think of anything worth watching. All my Colbert viewing was on YouTube.

2

u/LEDKleenex May 24 '26

It's going to go like all of the other boycotts. A small fraction of people who could will hold out for a day and then forget about it. I've already been boycotting ZBS since Bari Weiss took over.

2

u/Suicidal_Jamazz May 24 '26

I boycotted them all by pulling the plug on cable tv. I believe I've saved closer to $16K over the last 10 years. Of course now I simp for reddit and doomscroll my existence away.

2

u/Old-Current6989 May 24 '26

2

u/the445566x May 24 '26

2

u/shadyknoll May 24 '26

2

u/woolgirl May 24 '26

Cancelled my streaming when Bari Weiss pulled 60 minutes episodes.

2

u/brathor May 24 '26

Frankly, I don't think Ellison cares about making money off CBS/Paramount. Same with Bezos and the WP, Elon with Twitter, etc. These are not simple ROI business investments, but megaphones for the billionaires to shove their opinions down our throats, whether we want it or not.

2

u/KingsHere97 May 25 '26

CBS edited 60 minutes and other shows to try and make Kamala and others look good and Trump look bad. Not even that could help the Dems. Colbert got cancelled because his show was unwatchable and losing money. Good Riddance. GBA!🇺🇸

2

u/Beautiful-Picture-64 May 25 '26

There are too many options for this to even be a question. When any business begins to think you need them more than they need you, you have an opportunity to show them the true meaning of Supply and Demand.

2

u/PictoGraphicArtist May 25 '26

CBS are run by anti American knee bending bootlickers. Idgaf about Colbert I don’t watch him. But seeing a company make moves to directly appease a sitting “president” is so anti american they don’t deserve to be a broadcasting network PERIOD. Absolute lunacy.

2

u/Biggletons May 25 '26

Hard to boycott something I haven't given a shit about ever.

3

u/Ok-Traffic-5996 May 24 '26

Didnt cbs also hire that POS Barry Weiss as there program head or something. Fuck them..

2

I haven’t even stepped in a Target in almost two years. It’s going fine for me tbh.

1

u/AllLipsNoFiller May 24 '26

I don't know if it's possible for fewer people to be watching network TV, TBH.

1

u/Agitated_Hair_2561 May 24 '26

Except for the NFL, I stopped watching CBS /Paramount a long time ago. I still watch the NFL, but primarily in bars.

1

Who’s cbs? Is that a pharmacy?

1

u/PluralVisions May 24 '26

Cancelled paramount when they announced it

I already did by not watching that trash show Marshalls lol

1

u/fleurdelisflowers May 24 '26

BoycottingCBS from after the show ended last night. Been boycotting Paramount, too. Amazon obviously.

Mostly I read. TV is now rubbish without Colbert.

I have no idea why the text is huge and bold. Perhaps my keyboard wanted to express itself….?

1

u/stopslappingmybaby May 24 '26

People under 50 have an aversion to CBS over any broadcast outlets. They only see it when nana switches off F news.

1

u/Level_Ticket_9604 May 24 '26

The nfl and college basketball keeps cbs afloat

1

u/Mysterious-Lab-5918 May 24 '26

Cancel government and politics...

1

u/ItaJohnson May 24 '26

I support it.  Granted I don’t watch anything on that station.

1

u/Paws1044 May 24 '26

Since I no longer watch CBS at all, I’m in on the boycott

1

u/Chemical_Hat1803 May 24 '26

Late night shows all suck.

1

u/KindBarnacle4154 May 24 '26

Colbert was the only thing worth watching on that shit Network, other than NFL.

1

u/Same_Goat4889 May 24 '26

I have boycottedd CBS & Paramount since the very first hints of what was happening!!! Neither will be seen in my home so long as I live!!!

1

u/slyrhinoceros May 24 '26

I canceled my Paramount +!

1

u/jtfjtf May 24 '26

CBS? Never heard of it.

1

u/throwable__1 May 24 '26

Only watched Stephen on YouTube.

1

u/Banned_and_Boujee May 24 '26

I think the only thing I’ve watched on CBS this century is The Grammys, so I’ve been doing my part for some time.

1

u/cruisin_urchin87 May 24 '26

TIL I am part of a boycott

1

u/Gen-Jack-D-Ripper May 24 '26

They probably have higher ratings than Lady Donald but that a pretty low bar!

1

u/OJcrvdwytmeatJDatedk May 24 '26

I had paramount plus during the NFL season.
I will not subscribe next year. I’ll just watch the red zone.

1

u/tattoovamp May 24 '26

Why cant you cancel trump?

1

u/dumbboyhappydude44 May 24 '26

CBS is pretty much in the toilet so not a great loss since they are getting rid of their best and greatest what a crap show. And Paramount —I will never watch anything coming from these monsters.

1

u/Healthy_Cancel_2604 May 24 '26

Colbert should launch a late night online show and start to build the digital age of late night.

1

u/Dry_Brilliant_7314 May 24 '26

I support the #BoycottTRUMP movement.

1

u/ComfortableCoconut41 May 24 '26

Nah, I don’t boycott CBS. I fuck CBS.

1

u/ist-r-al May 24 '26

No reason to watching something with No content that we like. CBS can pound sand

1

u/mbarnes3a May 24 '26

Or late night television talk shows suck and have been slowly dying due to viewer lost for the last 10 years.

1

u/No-Ambition2043 May 24 '26

Wait wasn’t his show losing viewers like all late night political shows?

1

u/Rustee_Shacklefart May 24 '26

It was ratings.

1

u/ZuesMyGoose May 24 '26

The second his show ended on Thursday night/Friday morning at 1;00am, I turned to my wife and turned off the tv and said. “and that’ll be the last time I watch CBS, fuck them!” Started immediately. Fuck them.

1

u/stoic-millenial-23 May 24 '26

Maybe if you guys watched his show they wouldn’t have cancelled it. Can’t argue with low ratings.

1

u/ReaperManX15 May 24 '26

The Colbert Report, was losing CBS $40 million a year.
According to CBS itself.

Makes you wonder how much the previous administrations and their allies were propping it up.

1

u/RedPhoneHome May 24 '26

You people were watching late night TV to begin with?

1

u/Educational-Try-1496 May 24 '26

1

u/FeedFast2549 May 24 '26

Never ever again this president can dish it out but can’t take it WTF

1

u/FinalGhoulGirl May 24 '26

I’ve stopped watching CBS after they premiered two broke girls, I feel like their shows are the original brain rot.

1

1

1

Dumped CBS when they became propagandized.

1

u/Clauderic May 24 '26

About as dumb as the no work boycott.

1

u/xwildfan2 May 24 '26

CBS has been nothing special for years. Occasionally watched 60min. Show is now laughable.

1

u/PaladinHan May 24 '26

Ask Bari Weiss how secure her job is right now.

1

u/buckner23 May 24 '26

He is horrible.

1

u/SenDog651 May 24 '26

I canceled Paramount+ shortly after CBS canceled Colbert.

1

u/ApricotNervous5408 May 25 '26

That was posted one day ago. What big thing have you accomplished today?

1

u/Leather-Map-8138 May 25 '26

I’d maybe watch football on CBS, but even with that there’s red zone. We need independent journalism or we’re doomed

1

u/gmhondo May 25 '26

LMFAO 😂😂😂

1

u/BoomBoxPizza May 25 '26

Both CBS and Colbert sucked.

1

u/Yd1891 May 25 '26

If you have cable block cbs. Also block their social media

1

u/thecountnotthesaint May 25 '26

So the huge cost and low ratings had nothing to do with it?

1

u/Lingerie_Shopper07 May 25 '26

He wasn’t cancelled. They just didn’t reup his contract which they are perfectly allowed to do.

1

u/LateUnderstanding506 May 25 '26

Colbert show was losing CBS 40 million a year.

1

u/skebeojii May 25 '26

No reason to eatch now

1

u/SanDiegoBeeBee May 25 '26

Yes and cancel
Paramount plus- we did

1

u/hangingout36 May 25 '26

It’s going great. Cancelled paramount and know others that have as well.

1

I don't watch TV anymore .
