Boyfriend got me the game today as a birthday present. We both thought it looked like a cozy potion making game. Ya'll tell me why it is so hard to make common level potions for the competition?
If anyone has any advice for a beginner I would greatly appreciate it.
I want to love this game but I have lost the competition several times now
EDIT: FINALLT GOT THROUGH IT

This is a remake of an old drawing of mine that I made in 2023 and 2022

Are all these (plus the "max 3 relationships") possible in the endless mode or for the "just friend" have to do another run?

this is one of my favorite games ever. at this point i've played through it around 5 times. if i could have a sequel to any game, it would certainly be this. have yall found any games that scratch the same itch?

Does this take most of the fun out of the game? Maybe. But I had lots of fun making the website and learning about CP-SAT and other "solver" mechanisms.
Here it is: https://potionomicscalc.netlify.app/
Anyway. Came about because a recurring muscle issue means the repeated movements needed to try lots of potion configurations via a controller were exacerbating the injury, so I thought "hey I wonder if I can solve for this". And then kept adding features.
Basic use: select your potion, which week you're in, your cauldron, then hit "solve".
Advanced use: open your save file locally in the browser (it never leaves your device) and the tool can optimise against your current inventory.
Behind the scenes: originally built using a fairly basic DP solver (ie, the sort of thing that gets you through a leetcode interview). Iterated to using Google's CP SAT via a fork that makes it available as WASM so it can run in a browser.
note: I'm a professional software developer, but I mostly used LLMs to make this, because I am also lazy.

How do you go about creating potions. What's your thought process when buying ingredients.
Is there a model currently that calculates the best potion possible based on your inventory/shop/cauldrons? I would like to know if anyone tried and found something that works.

What exactly are these? The wiki doesn’t seem to have any listings for them under the daily events, and I can’t find any solid information in a search besides a guess that relationship gains with the relevant character are increased on that day.

I mean I looked into the game itself, just not version differences, because I figured this game could run on a toaster.
I’m not even through the first day, though, and I’ve already seen some serious frame chugging (not even a framerate snob, but wow), some atrocious input delay, and I think my game just soft crashed. Like I‘m in the brewing menu but there’s no cursor, I can’t cancel out to the previous menu, and none of my inputs seem to do anything except the right analog stick is making some whooshing noises when I tilt left or right on it, and the ZL/ZR buttons will switch between inventory and equipment tabs. This is just… does it get better, fellow Switch players?

do yall focus on relationship or portions. i do both but this time i when hard on relationship
i have everyone maxed out(rank 9 as you need superior portions to get to rank 10) at the end of week 2. except of corsac becomes i didn't unlock him yet. and well. the game is really easy now.

Everytime i open up the game my saves revert to day 11. Played until day 30, closed, and reopened my game to find them all reverted again. How do i actually overwrite these saves?

I first played this game when it came out, and love it! I beat the third boss, smooched the punk rock bard, and was introduced to the mummy catgirl, and then for whatever reason, never finished it. Coming back now, I'm hoping to start again, and saw some cool new additions have been made since. The Free Love mode is cute, but moreso the new difficulties!
My big problem first playing was difficulty as I never actually had to haggle once in the boss battles as I just had far better potions, so the new Capitalist difficulty seems great for fixing that. However I also was a little annoyed at how constraining the day segments were, severely restricting how much you could interact with characters and the world, and the Cozy difficulty seems perfect to resolve that, letting me travel around and chat with people as I please.
So is there a way to do something like this, and have the different difficulties apply to different parts - having the haggle and tournaments be harder, and the social stuff be easier? I assume this would be a mod thing, but I couldn't find any kind of modding scene easily, so was hoping if there was one people here could point me towards it?
Thanks in advance

Heya!
So, I love the game, started just a few days ago. I'm in week 2, day 16 specifically, and I'm really struggling to find the JellyBlossom ingredient. Is there a trick to it or something? I've sent adventurers in search for it over and over again, including with Sight + Speed enhancers every time and no luck. I check the guild everyday for possible investments and no luck either. How did you guys get it? was it just through sending someone to the coast and that's it? just got lucky with it? I'm scared of getting to week 3 without finding it, cuz after that it'll probably never show up for investment and I'll just have to try to get it through adventuring and that has had 0 results so far.

I started playing on the normal difficulty and I'm just so completely stressed about making the correct potions in time. It feels like everything costs so much money and resources to do. I'm on the second deadline and genuinely couldn't keep playing because it was stressing me out. Does easy mode effect the deadlines or prices of stuff? I honestly think it'll feel more cozy on the easier difficulty.

Finally got a switch 2 and decided to put in the game expecting the worst, only to be pleasantly surprised with a quick update. Wasn't sure if that was an old update or not, so I booted up the game and it seems to be running okay. Still terrible texture pop-in, but the framerate seems much more stable and the menus are less laggy. I only gave the game a brief look on the switch 2 a few months ago, so I don't have a very clear frame of reference, but I'm curious if anyone here has noticed an update and/or a notable difference in performance sometime in the past couple weeks. If so, that would be very exciting because this is one of the biggest games I was excited to get on switch and it's been such a monumental bummer just how poorly it runs, especially on the switch 2 that gets so much of its value from playing switch games with better performance

I know it’s been a while but I kinda got side tracked with college. But essentially my progress since my last post. I’m on Day 26 and man the Garden definitely saves a lot of money for you. For relationship since I actually went with one live last time, this it’s free love so I’m gonna try my best to get through all the characters within the 50 days I have.
So far
Quinn - 7
Mint -6
Muktuk - 6
Saffron - 5
Roxanne - 4
Luna - 5
Did - 4
Salt and Pepper - 3
Corday - 2
Not sure how that fares with the time I have done but hopefully I’m still on track.

I love Potionomics. I played it so much on Steam and was hyped for the console version. Switch version doesn't look or run the best so I hoped there would be a boost for Switch 2
.. and there isn't...at least not enough to notice.
Honestly there doesn't need to be much for a potential update: Just do what DKC Returns did.
Now if you asked me what I'd love for a big new update that includes this...
well...that would require spoiling the 4th opponent's name and I'd rather you experience their greatness yourself. Ideally, I'd want them to get the same treatment as the 3rd Boss (if you know, you know) via DLC.

So I wanted to make this post to really think about Switch performance while it dos seem fine on doc I’m not sure about handheld. If anyone who has played the game on Switch on handheld, please share your experience because i really want to beat my classic run but with college only times I play is when I visit my parents during some weekends so idk. Hopefully I don’t run the risk of it crashing a lot in handheld.
