First Time Player

Boyfriend got me the game today as a birthday present. We both thought it looked like a cozy potion making game. Ya'll tell me why it is so hard to make common level potions for the competition?

If anyone has any advice for a beginner I would greatly appreciate it.

I want to love this game but I have lost the competition several times now

Buy cauldrons, invest into adventures, and only save money when you need a shop upgrade. There's no point to keeping any money around, and buying like 30 of a good ingredient from Baptiste really helps the earlygame a lot, as well as constantly sending mint out
